Job Title: Web Developer (C#/ASP.NET)
Reports To: VP Product Manager, Wind Analytics
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Wind Products is a SoHo New York City based early stage renewable energy company
specializing in small wind turbines (1kW-100kw). We are seeking an experienced ASP.NET/C# developer to
implement coding of our wind analysis software tool. This is a full-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Acting as the main software developer, using C# and ASP.NET to code the Wind Analytics wind
analysis methodology into a software tool based on defined specifications. This includes:
o Refining specifications based on technical needs or realities
o Porting calculations from existing windows C# prototype.
o Using web development languages to create a UI based on defined wireframes
o Building and linking SQL server databases
o Developing and integrating the system as a whole
- Providing technical input for the creation of software documentation and training materials
- Taking direction from the Product Manager and the Software Architect. Collaborating closely with
software consultants on technical plans, and the product manager on meeting customer needs
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience with C# and ASP.NET experience
- 1+ year of SQL server experience (2005, 2008, 2010)
- Considerable aptitude with web development languages (XML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, etc.)
- Experience working on customer facing applications, ability to deliver on user interface and look-
and-feel functionality requirements, and improve where necessary (please share examples)
- Experience with QA/regression testing and Code Management valuable
- Experience working with SOAP and web services
- Understanding of e-commerce systems
- Experience with geographic software components is very valuable (Google Maps, Bing Maps, ESRI,
MapInfo, etc.)
- Enthusiasm for renewable energy, new products, and the work you do
- Ability/interest to work hard and collaborate closely in an exciting start up environment
Education:
- Bachelors degree or higher preferred
