Letter of recommendation
To whom it may concern,
I am pleased to contribute praise for the work Ms. Choi did during her tenure at the Palo Alto
Weekly.
Most recently she was my contact during the 2016 Palo Alto City Council Campaign. Heather
was accessible, professional, and flexible during a time of tension and pressure—features which
are part of local election politics.
For a period of over six weeks the Tanaka Campaign ordered various advertising venues
including online rotating banner ads, newspaper print ads and a front page sticker. This meant
that during a one week period we would have multiple deadlines with a variety of graphics.
Heather gave us gentle reminders, extended deadlines when we needed to resolve typos and
other difficulties and managed to communicate without tension or impatience. This was
impressive.
Additionally, our team followed return on investment valuation from these various
advertisements. She was quick to deliver data for our analysis and helped to explain the
viewership capacity to our targeted audience. Therefore, she was in contact with a variety of
campaign volunteers, supporting each in their area of expertise and focus. Heather was
responsive and reliable at all levels of communication to our team.
Please let this serve as my recommendation for Heather Jane Choi in her work with me as
Campaign Manager to Council Member elect Greg Tanaka.
