This document is a student project on forces submitted by Shailesh Kumar Singh of Silver Stone Public School. It contains a certificate signed by the subject teacher, Mr. Amit Sir, certifying that Shailesh completed the project under guidance and showed sincerity. It also includes an acknowledgment thanking Mr. Amit and the principal for the opportunity. The project defines force, discusses contact and non-contact forces, balanced and unbalanced forces, and provides examples of different types of forces including friction, air resistance, normal force, gravitational force, applied force, and spring force.

5. What is a force ?What is a force ?
Force is a push or a pull that
changes or tends to change the
state of rest or uniform motion
of an object or changes the
direction or shape of an
object. Force causes objects to
accelerate, add to the object's
overall pressure, change
direction, or change
shape. Force is measured in
Newton.
6. Contact & non-
contact force
A non-contact force is a force which
acts on an object without coming
physically in contact with. The most
familiar example of a non-contact
force is weight. In contrast a contact
force is a force applied to a body by
another body that is in contact with
it.
7. Balanced and
Unbalanced forces
Balanced forces
Balance forces are forces where the
effect of one force is cancelled out by
another .
Unbalanced forces
When two or more force acting on an
object are not equal , then the force
are known as unbalance forces .
12. Applied force
An applied force is a force that
is applied to an object by a
person or another object. If a
person is pushing a desk across
the room, then there is
an applied force acting upon the
object. The applied force is
the force exerted on the desk by
the person.
13. Spring force
The spring force is
the force exerted by a compressed
or stretched spring upon any
object that is attached to it. An
object that compresses or
stretches a spring is always acted
upon by a force that restores the
object to its rest or equilibrium
position.
