2. RAZZMATAZZ ‘15
“One of the greatest talents of all is the talent to recognize and develop
talent in others.”-Frank Tyge
It is said, “There is a garden in every childhood, an
enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air
softer and morning more fragrant than ever again.”
The best years of one’s life are undoubtedly the
youthful days. Life is lived to the fullest with no wor-
ries! The most enjoyable period of one’s life- child-
hood, is the phase where memories are made, and tal-
ents are discovered.
Every child is special. They are like stars on Earth,
filled with the pulse of life, fresh dreams, fertile im-
agination and creativity. And it is believed that those
who have talent must embrace it, nurture it and share
it.
So it’s that time of the year again! “Razzmatazz ‘15” is
back with many attractive events like Yuvdhwani,
Nrityangana, Raaga and lots more, to steer every bud-
ding talent from the desert of darkness to the green-
ish world of light. So there is no better time than now
for the young talents to embark on the journey of
reaching milestones of dreams.
3. From the Desk of Dean (Students Welfare)
Every passing moment the number of skilled personnel increases while the world
craves for opportunity to bring their skills to the front. Such a thing has been very
prominent amongst the youth of the present generation which needs a big platform
with promising opportunities.
I am proud to say that Razzmatazz is one of those big events which not only promises
but also delivers huge golden windows in various fields of technical knowledge, art
and dance, to the school going children. It is an event under Incandescence, the annu-
al cultural festival of NIT Silchar. It has evolved tremendously from just an idea into
something far bigger. Today it has become more of a foundation where physical and
mental powers could be tested so as to polish them for future endeavors, adding
more feathers to the achievements of NIT Silchar in guiding these children towards
their goals.
Razzmatazz 2015 brings more opportunities to the school students this year.
I wish the team Razzmatazz that their event crosses bars set earlier.
May this event be a grand success!
Dr A. K. Barbhuiya
Dean (Student Welfare)
NIT Silchar.
4. From the Chief Convener
Inspiring young minds by providing them grand platform to bring-forth their creativity
in all aspects of culture, literature and technology through competitions, workshops,
seminars etc, has been the incentive of Razzmatazz. By inviting different schools from
distant regions to participate together, we try to overcome the barrier of confinement
and pursue unification of ideas and talents.
In our course of journey from 2010, we entered the hierarchy of Razzmatazz Manage-
ment team as organizers, followed by succeeding to coordinators where we started
our contribution. Standardization of the complete event from brochure, posters, etc.,
creating zones for sponsorship and overcoming financial and infrastructural deficits,
implementing technical events like Robotics, Nirmaan, Technotron, Mech-a-sail, and
creating the Razzmatazz Championship trophy etc., we boosted Razzmatazz to a well-
organized systematic event in the region.
We guarantee that the prodigy will continue with a vision to be recognized throughout
the state as well as the nation. I am glad to work with Nabarun Dey, Sandipan
Choudhury, Samrat Roy as our successors for Conveners, who were dedicated towards
implementation of our dreams and hope for their full support this year too.
In this New Year 2015, we promise that the legacy of idealized Razzmatazz, in associa-
tion with INTELLECT aademy under the full support of Gymkhana Student’s Union
Body of NIT Silchar 2014-15, will reach new advances with huge participation of
schools from different regions incorporating scholarships, workshops and full of new
surprises.
Wishing the Winner of Razzmatazz’14 Championship Trophy, Holy CrossSchool, Silchar,
we assure you all of new exciting challenges and fun in a more scientific ap-
proach. With this we invite all the schools to be a part of Razzmatazz 2015 to share the
dreams of their young dreamers. We await your active participation.
With regards
Saranjit Das,
Chairman, RAZZMATAZZ 2015
5. Ex-Convener opines…
First of all I would like to congratulate the organisers of Razzmatazz for keeping the
Flame &Fire of Razzmatazz high and burning. With every passing year, Razzmatazz has
set new and higher benchmarks and thus for every new Organising committee this al-
ways becomes a challenge, however the organizers give a befitting answer to this hurdle
and this has become a driving spirit for Razzmatazz.
I also congratulate the Participating Schools and all its students for the enthusiasm and
trust they have put in this platform for showcasing talent. Without your support this
would not have been possible.
With a humble beginning that we had, we had a motto of providing a platform for the
students to showcase their talent and for organizers to sharpen their management skills.
I see an ambitious future for Razzmatazz, as it is a well-known name in Barak Valley, I
wish to see that it becomes equally famous in the entire North-eastern region.
Moreover I would also like that female members of NIT Silchar student fraternity take
an active participation in organizing "Razzmatazz". I am still waiting to see a Female Con-
vener of Razzmatazz, and I am hopeful to see one in near future.
Few names that I would like to take who had big contributions in Razzmatazz; first of all,
my Co-Conveners and close friends Rohit Luthra & Deepmoy Thakuria, without you this
would not have been what it is today. My senior Conveners Idris Jelani & Manti Pathak,
juniors Rishiraj, Kangkan, Madhurjya, Pranab, Heerok, Arunava, Pankim, Kamalesh,
Saranjit and all of them whose contributions have left a lasting impact on Razzmatazz.
Best wishes to all the new Conveners, Coordinators and Organizers and I wish that
you give your best.
Special thanks to Principals, teachers and parents of SCS, Don Bosco, Holy Cross, Maha-
rishi Vidya Mandir, ............. for their continued support.
Three Cheers for Razzmatazz 2015

NITSMUN
Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an educational simulation
and academic competition in which students learn about diplomacy, international rela-
tions, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches research, public speaking, de-
bating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abili-
ties.
Participants in Model UN conferences, referred to as delegates, are placed in a com-
mittee and assigned a particular country to each of the delegates to represent. They are
presented with their assignments in advance, along with a topic or topics that their
committee will discuss. Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate
positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in committee. At the
end of a conference, the best-performing delegates in each committee are recognized
with awards.
This is an academic facsimile of the United Nations aimed at spreading awareness about
the various proceeding of UNO and its committees, international relations and UN
agendas. It is NIT Silchar's first major attempt in joining the elite MUN Society all around
the world.
NITS MUN aims to be an authentic simulation of the United Nations, complete with a
wide range of sub-committees, a Secretariat headed by the Secretary General, and of
course, you, the delegates. The conference provides a platform which focuses on
"practicing tolerance and living together in peace with one another as good neigh-
bours." NITS MUN stresses the in-depth importance of balancing verbal skills of dele-
gates with the enhancement of knowledge of various aspects of international negotia-
tion and examination and resolution of pressing issues.
NITSMUN this year aims at bringing to you a day of ardent debate and inspiring Com-
