2. The Kilims of Anatolia are rich in colours and always harmonious. The used archaic patterns are ancient and go back in the beginning of humankind. At first they were used like shamanism signs and even today they tell about the believes and imaginations of the tribes, what live very close with the nature. We are proud to be able to offer you some of these craftmanships, which have such a long tradition as humankind is wandering and goes back in the time, when the first loom was created. Kilims are not really carpets, although they are also used in this way, they are called flat woven rugs, what discribes the technique to create Kilims: Flat Weaving Technique. They are used in the tents of tribes like carpets to save against the cold of earth, but they are also used as saddlebag, pillows, partition in tents. Kilims are an all- around used piece in the every day life of tribes. The tribe of Yorük, what even today is a nomadising tribe in Central Anatolia, uses the slit weaving technique to create the Kilims they weave on their resting places. Kilims of tribes, what nomadise even today are always handwoven of pure natural wool and the wool is always dyed with natural colours.

3. The Kilims of the Yörük are woven with slit weaving technique. It is very easy to recognize it. Take a Kilim and look against the light. You should see the slits, where encounter the colours.
