• Starbucks has not only made it very clear that it supports
LGBTQ equality, but the company has also made it clear that
its support of the LGBTQ community is more important than
profits. During a 2013 company meeting, CEO Howard
Schultz fielded a question from a shareholder who was
concerned about lost business due to Starbucks’ support of
gay marriage. Schultz’s response? Feel free to sell your
shares. “Not every decision is an economic decision,” Schultz

• In June 2015 an ad from the beverage giant
depicted what appeared to be a queer family

• Internet giant Amazon is the lesbian, gay, bisexual
and transgender (LGBT) community’s best-
perceived brand for 2015, a new survey has
revealed.
• The Seattle-based company rose six spots to

9. Levi's
• In 2011, Levi's found itself at odds with the Boy
Scout's 'Three Gs' principle that had guided the
Scouts' membership model for more than 80
years -- that everyone is welcome, provided they
are not gay, godless, or a girl. The San Francisco-
based denim company pulled its Boy Scout
funding, due to the group's exclusionary practice
at the time.

10. Oreo
• In June 2012, Oreo posted a photo of a rainbow
sextuple-stacked cookie to its Facebook page in
honor of Pride month. While the responses were
mostly positive, some commenters were
outraged, even calling for a boycott of the
product. Still, Basil Maglaris, Kraft's associate
director of corporate affairs, said that the positive
comments on the post "far outweighed" the

• The ice cream company has been a long-standing

17. Chobani
• In the midst of the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Chobani
made it clear that it wasn’t cool with the host country’s anti-
gay laws. “We are against all laws and practices that
discriminate in any way, whether it be where you come from
or who you love — for that reason, we oppose Russia’s anti-
LGBT law,” Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya, told MSNBC, just a
couple days after the company tweeted a rainbow picture of
its yogurt containers with the caption, “Naturally Powering
Everyone.” And last summer, the yogurt company capped off

• Nordstrom has a years-long history of
supporting gay rights, and has been listed as

• A May 2012 post on the American Family Association web site
proclaims, "AFA is promoting a boycott of Home Depot until it
agrees to remain neutral in the homosexual culture war. The total
number of people who have signed the Home Depot boycott
pledge is 719,037." The pledge condemned Home Depot for giving
"financial and corporate support to open displays of homosexual
activism," because this helps expose "small children to lascivious
displays of sexual conduct by homosexuals and cross-dressers." In
response to the pledge, which was delivered at Home Depot's
annual shareholder meeting, Chairman Blake responded.
