7. Further Information
Nose, when we breathe in, air rushes into our body
through our nose and air will cleaned, warmed, and
moistened.
Windpipe, the air then moves down our windpipe.
Air tubes, the windpipe branches to the left and right
into smaller air tubes.
Lungs, each of this air tubes leads to one of our lungs
and branch with air sacs.
Air sacs, for gas exchange.

9. Wonderful Lungs
Lungs is the most important organ in our respiratory
system.

12. Breathe in and Breathe out
Breathe in
Our ribcage moves outwards
and upwards. This causes
the space in our chest to
become bigger and air rich in
oxygen is drawn into our
lungs.
Breathe out
Our ribcage moves inwards
and downwards. This causes
the space in our chest to
become smaller and air rich
in carbondioxide is forced
out of our lungs.

windpipe and the two main air tubes that
lead to the lungs.
21. Lung Cancer –
when cells in the
lungs grow and
multiply without
control and
abnormally
forming a tumour
