New Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioners
appointed
The State Government has appointed new Queensland
Trade and Investment Commissioners to India and the
Middle East.
Speaking from Abu Dhabi, Premier Campbell Newman said
the appointments were the result of a long and detailed
search for the right people.
He said Australian born Donna Massie would head up the Middle East office based in
Abu Dhabi, while Indian born Australian national Parag Shirnamé would represent
Queensland in India.
Mr Newman said Mr Shirnamé brought more than two decades of business
experience to his position.
“He has worked as a Senior Manager and Dean of the Ford Academy, Ford Motor
Company, Chief Executive of DSK Supinfocom and Diversity Asia Pacific and has
been a consultant to companies in China, Australia, United States and India,” he said.
“India is one of the top 5 trading partners for Queensland and we are very fortunate to
be able to appoint a person with Mr Shirname’s experience and business acumen to
the position.

The search was conducted by Horton International (India and Area). Senior level
search for International government bodies is different and pose a different challenge
than corporate executive search. Our earlier experience / expertise of similar
searches ( eg Director Trade and Investment India – Government of New South
Wales ) helped us successfully close this challenging search after 6 months of efforts
after a notable leading international consultant had failed.

Chandna Gurtoo). In which Mr. Nigam is quoted along with industry stalwarts like
Naina Lal Kidwai (Head, HSBC India) and Rajan Dutta (President-HR, Reliance
Communications).
The quote - “Avoid getting into a conflict situation, employees cannot dictate terms,”
said Deependra Nigam, Vice Chairman, Executive Recruiters’ Association.

article talks about current status of recruitment industry.
