Rationale
PDHPE can be applied both practically and theoretically to
provide understanding in all areas relevant to health and
wellbeing such as road safety, sexual health and personal
safety through engaged learning, interactive games and
activities.
PDHPE emphasises the roles of nutrition and an active
lifestyle for good social, physical and mental health.

4. PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Develops skills that encourage teamwork, fair play, communication,
interaction and cooperation.
PDHPE is an important Key Learning Area as it equips individuals to
be accountable for their own health from an early age and
establishes a foundation for a pattern of lifelong healthy living.
Encourages a better quality of life by teaching children to be
physical everyday. The positive impacts may be life changing in that
there is a reduction in the incidence of disease and mortality,
particularly in terms of issues facing young children i.e. childhood
obesity, cholesterol and diabetes.
5. PDHPE is essential as it

collaboratively as classroom
