Recording In The Media Center The English Language Center September 27 and 28, 2011
Student Opinions “Recording my voice and listening to it is useful for me.” What else did they say? 95% of students say yes! 39% strongly agreed 56% agreed “I like to do exercises recording and listening to my voice. Helping to correct some of my pronunciation's mistakes.” “Actually It is shame to record my voice but it is good chance to know how my voice sounds.” “There is more concentration in media center. I like to control sound and stops in audio by myself.”
Teacher Opinions “Recording their voices and listening to them is useful for students.” What else did you say? 100% of teachers surveyed agreed with this. 80% of the survey respondents said they’d benefit from a workshop on recording. Faculty indicated that they would benefit from tutorials or handouts which could be accessed from home.
The Technical Part How to record, collect, and save.
Recording Soloist Control Box What Students Do Click the red record button. The timer begins. A stop button becomes activated once recording begins. Students can listen to the recording; they can also erase it and start again.
Collecting Virtuoso screen Where The Recordings Go The files will collect to a folder called Collections$on the server. This is the onlyplace the files can collect to.
Saving You are able to move files from the collection folder to a portable flash drive. Dragging and dropping is the easiest way.
Saving One-By-One 	The students have Close File and Open File buttons on their Soloist control boxes. 	When you click one of these, you should choose YES to save the recording.
Saving One-By-One 	When you save the file, it will go in Student Files. 	Then you can drag it to the desktop. From here, you can save to a portable drive.
