Merging the system. There will still be a customized entry for TCE users but integrating the systems will build greater utility overall, bridge the data & technology, etc.

New point data…Over the last year we’ve reached out to 2-1-1 agencies across the state to display their data. As of September, 2010, we have 211 data for 16 counties. We’ve also added Hospitals, Head Start agencies, and data from The California Department of Education. Other points that have often been requested, such as Alcohol Outlets, EPA sites, etc., are available only in the Map room, and not the Service room.
Do not have for Del Norte & Merced.10 of the 14 counties we have data for12 of the 14 places.
Outcome 6One of the changes you would like to see is an improve youth and family social/emotional support servicesStrategy – engage youth in meaningful ways, improve youth well-being – physical, emotional health. So, then, want to get a sense of the landscape in terms of who is providing services to youth in your community, what types of services, etc. And you want to use this information to come to common understanding of need with core partners, build/bring others in to partnership, mobilize regarding need, etc.
1stidentifying resources that are currently available…expanding the search to include other potential youth service providers…then looking at these resources in relation to a school (and looking at school data again as another way to demonstrate need in the youth population)
First glance at services tagged as Youth Development programs by 211 taxonomy (later we can broaden search, and look at potential new sites…)
Expand search…
to show a broader range of services, and identify sites where there may be potential for increased youth services
Broadening the category of services
Highlight dropout rate
Could utilize this info for outreach (career pipeline)…materials, engagement in Spanish
…now that you know the landscape of youth services in the area, what they offer, potential partners, etc. You can look/gather baseline information on the overall well-being of youth in the community to either advocate for the need of continuing some of the services that exist, increase services, etc. Education others about the needs of the youth population.
Show how the educational attainment is much lower on average in your place compared to rest of county…utilize this data when working with funders, and decision makers
Can customize, save maps, upload your own data using HC.org
People can click through these thumbnail images, then click on the large image to go to that map, report, link, photo, etc.
