1. Sound is very key in action movies as there is one or more “heroes “
which thrust into a series of challenges to defeat the greater evil
which requires physical feats , extended fights and frenetic chases .
They occasionally go up against incredible odds such as life
threatening situations, an evil villain or being chased by
transportations such as fast cars, trucks etc. In action movies there
is usually a high rate of violence e.g. fist fights, gunplay, and
explosions, so most action movies are rated 15 or 18 depending on
the amount of violence.
For example in the Die Hard trailer we see how the mood quickly
changes when he arrives in Los Angeles and gets caught up in
German terrorist attack on the civilians . He then becomes the
“heroes” (not by choice) and has to save all the innocent people
against the terrorists. This sets the mood and McClane is then
forced to go up against the terrorist alone despite greater odds he
defeats the terrorist’s and learns there real aim is to steal millions
in bearer bonds from the building vault. In the finale, McClane
throws the terrorist leader, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), out the
window to fall thirty stories.
