1. DISCUSSION
Methods
i. Introduction
Basically, before implementing this program, we had conducted a visit to
Perkampungan Orang Asli Sg Pusu, Gombak in order to see with our own naked eyes
the real life of villagers there and to get ideas on how to manage and arrange our
program so that the program will be held in a perfect and smooth way. Therefore,
during the visit we had an interview with a representative of JAKOA, Haji Abd Hanif
Harun. We had discussed with him on our intention to execute a program for the
Muslim villagers. We explained to him this program is objectively to teach the
Muslim villagers about the true teaching of Islam and how to practice it in daily life
based on Qur’an & Sunnah.
ii. Participants
The total population of indigenous people in that village is about 4000 people. As for
it, 45% of the populations are Muslim. Therefore, the participants affected would be
all the Muslim villagers. In order to make sure the practical of Islamic teachings are
perfectly absorbed by the participants, we had decided that religion teachers should
approach them house by house in stipulated time given. As a result, they will
understand better in a sustainable time of period. It is because this program will be
conducted and repeated every two weeks and it will last for one year. Hence, we
believe that with the long period, it will help these indigenous people to digest and
practice well all the knowledge that they get from the religion teachers.
iii. Module
As we are going to employ 10 religion teachers which are 5 males and 5 females, they
need to do two sessions in one visit. It means there will be two houses that each of the
teachers must go and teach in a visit. To be clearer, this program will be conducted
twice per month and continuous for one year. Therefore, it will be 24 times in order to
complete the whole year.
2. As for the program tentative, it starts as early as 9:00 am for the first house. There
will be the demonstration by the religion teachers on how to perform ablution and
tayamum in the correct way. After that, each members of the house will do the
practical, supervised by the religion teacher. The purpose is to make sure that the
participants will do the task without mistake. As Muslim, we all know that the
incomplete ablution or tayamum will lead to invalid prayer.
Then, the second slot will be on demonstration and practical of performing
compulsory prayers. The religion teachers will teach the full rukun in solah, how to
recite Qunut in Fajr prayer, how to recite dua’ after performing solah, what dzikir to
be recited during sujud sand many more about solah.
The third slot would be reciting al-Quran in halaqah or Jemaah After that there will
be tajwid slot to the participants. This slot will require religion teachers to use
materials and equipment such as books, white board and marker pen in order to make
the learning process is more effective and easily understandable.
Fourthly is story-telling slot which require the religion teachers to tell about the
prophet. As this program will be conducted in 24 times in a year, each slot will tell
about different prophet starting from Prophet Adam until Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
This slot will entertain the participants about the life of previous prophets and to
implement Sunnah in daily life.
Last but not least slot goes to dzikir session. This is to remind each Muslim that we
must remember Allah not only in our prayer but we can also indulge the feeling to
always remember Him in dzikir. It is because dzikir can always be done at any time.
This is to show the indigenous people that Islam is such an easy religion to be
practiced.
After that, there will be a break for lunch and Dzuhur prayer for the religion teachers
before they repeat the same slot in another house. The program will end at 5pm.
