1 Bai Chay Beach
This artificial sandy beach is 500 metres long
500 metres wide with a low level range of hills
that slope gently toward the sea, making it a
popular place for sunbathing, swimming and
picnicking.
3. Follow us:
2 Bai Tu Long Bay
Bai Tu Long is in the northeast of, and has
remained an unexplored area of, Halong Bay. It
is often thought even more stunning than main
bay itself, as it has only just started being seen
as a destination for travelers.
4. Follow us:
3 Cat Ba Island
The largest island in the bay and about half of
its area makes up the Cat Ba National Park.
This is home to the incredibly beautiful and
highly endangered Cat Ba Langur. Cat Ba is the
main island of the 367 that make up the 260
square kilometer Cat Ba Archipelago.
5. Follow us:
4 Co To Island
This is one of the best off the beaten track
destinations in Halong Bay. It’s actually an
archipelago located in the Gulf of Tonkin. It is a
great location for swimming, but is also loved
for its parks, natural forests, lighthouses and
statues of Ho Chi Minh. It has a delightful wharf,
fishing village and bay.
6. Follow us:
5 Vung Vieng Village
The village is located is found 24km from the
mainland, in the middle of Bai Tu Long Bay. A
peaceful location with really beautiful scenery,
the traditional culture of fishermen living here is
fascinating to see. They are more than happy to
show you how to use a fishing net or rod.
7. Follow us:
6 Sung Sot Cave
Its name means the surprise cave and it is the
largest and most spectacular in Halong Bay.
The entrance is high up on a rock face and the
climb rewards visitors with wonderful views of
the bay. There are many stalagmites, stalactites
and columns and the cave is lit by artificial light.
8. Follow us:
7 Thien Cung Cave
The “Heavenly Cave” is located on the south-
west side the Halong Bay, just 4km from the
wharf at Ha Long City. Getting to it is a tricky
walk, surrounded by thick forest. Upon entering
through a narrow gateway, the grotto’s large
main chamber opens up. Again this is a really
superb example of a cave and has many
stalagmites and stalactites.
9. Follow us:
8 Ti Top Island
This got its name from Russian cosmonaut
Gherman Titov who visited Halong Bay in 1962.
It is located about 14 km east of Bai Chay
Beach. The island is a popular tourist
destination and the beach here is very beautiful;
the perfect place to cool off when the heats get
too much.
10. Follow us:
9 Tuan Chau Island
This lovely island is covered by pine forests and
has an area of 2.2 km². To the east and south
there are two man-made beaches which have
very white, fine sand. Recently Tuan Chau
Island has become one of the main tourist
destinations in Ha Long bay
11. Follow us:
10 Ba Be National Park
Located about 240 km to the northwest of the
capital city Hanoi, in Bac Kan Province, Ba Be
National Park is a nature reserve that was created
to protect the freshwater Ba Be Lake and the
surrounding limestone and lowland evergreen
forests. It is a beautiful place to visit.
