The invincible Fortillaand Necrobiosus By: Esther Lee
Exposition Surrounded by a vast ocean, covered with trees and wild life, containing a deep cave with a monster, and populated with many villagers, a king, and a goddess, exists a small island called Boxon. The great, powerful, and handsome king of Boxon is Ratiska. Callisagog, his wife, is the goddess of beauty, skills, intelligence, and weapons. Together, they gave life to a baby girl whose name is Fortilla. She grew up to be a beautiful and strong leader, just like her mother. A few years after her birth, a second child was born; a baby boy who was named Monoletius. Fortilla and Monoletius were very closely knit. However, King Ratiska always wanted his eldest child to be a boy. Thus, he went to the oracle in Delphi to know whether or not that would ever be possible with another woman.
Expositon continued… The oracle told him he could never have a eldest son and that Monoletius and Fortilla were going to unite and take his throne. King Ratiska slumped back to his palace, depressed and worried. He sat back on his throne and came up with the idea to split up his two children; either by death or a separation of some sort. He called upon Callisagog, Monoletius, and Fortilla. Callisagog and King Ratiska argued, and Callisagog even threatened King Ratiska that she was going to call upon her father, Zeus, and mother, Athena, to deal with him. However, King Ratiska ended up winning. Callisagog decided to take Fortilla to the village to show how much she loved King Ratiska. She took Fortilla by the hand, kissed Monoletius’s head farewell, and stormed off.
Rising Action A couple of years later, in the woods, Callisagog was teaching Fortilla how to shoot the crossbow she made her. However, back in the palace, a sickness struck Monoletius. The sickness was caused by a disease no one could heal. Not even by the most legendary potion makers nor doctors. However, there was special blood that was located on a wing that belonged to the monster, Necrobiosus. The blood could heal anything and anyone. Only the brave and bold warriors faced this monster to receive the blood. Some of them came back with no blood or some did not come back at all.
Rising Action continued… King Ratiska decided that whoever was daring and corageous enough to get the healing blood, he would grant them a wish. Rumors were gossiped all over the village and Fortilla, paying attention to the villagers, heard a special rumor that involved a reward. She ran all the way to the palace and confronted her father. King Ratiska was surprised as Fortilla told him she would go get the blood. He knew she would end up dying and he wouldn’t have to worry about the oracle coming true, so he agreed. Fortilla also stated that if she succeeded then he would have to reunite her with her brother. King Rastiska, knowing this would never happen, agreed again.
Rising Action continued… Fortilla went back home, excitedly, to tell her mother that she was going to go on her first quest. Callisagog, having faith in her child, was extremely proud. She quickly made her daughter a dagger and two steel cups. She gave those weapons to her, along with the crossbow they were training on. She told Fortilla to shoot two arrows at Necrobiosus. One at the middle of his forehead and the other at his chest, because those aims would kill him. She also told her to get the dagger, slice both of his wings, and catch the two types of blood in the two cups because one type of blood healed, and the other caused death. However, nobody knew which blood caused which. With tears in her eyes, she hugged her beloved daughter and wished her good luck.
Climax Fortilla traveled day and night, with the directions from her mother. After six days of traveling, she finally came across an immense cave. She rested for a few minutes, gathered her weapons, and boldly stepped in. Necrobiosus smelled her mortal blood and told her to show herself. Fortilla, instead, lurked around and found herself looking at a huge, bull- winged monster a few feet away.
Climax continued… She hid behind a boulder and shot two arrows past his face to distract him. He saw her and ran after her. She quickly got two more arrows and shot them. The first arrow struck his forehead while the other one missed his chest. Rapidly, she got another arrow and aimed it at his chest. Fortilla smiled as the monster fell to the floor; a few feet away from her. Fortilla, heart pounding and sweat pouring out of her head, quickly got on the floor, sliced both of his wings, and caught the two types of blood in the separate cups.
Falling Action She dashed out of the cave and traveled back home. Knowing time was speeding by. On the fifth day of traveling home, she came across Perseus. She thought he was the most handsome and dazzling warrior she ever met. They started talking and they fell in love. Fortilla went back to the palace by riding on the back of Pegasus and behind Perseus.
Falling Action continued… Fortilla dashed in the palace and King Ratiska was shocked to see her. He was incredulous as Fortilla told him of her success; thus, he snatched a cup of blood from her hand and accidently spilled it on his hand. He fell to the floor; gasping for air. As he took his final breath, Fortilla knew the cup of blood left in her hand was the blood that could heal.
Resolution She rushed to Monoletius and poured the cup of blood onto the skin of his arm. Monoletiusgasped and turned from a very worn out and unhealthy person to very energetic and in good physical shape. He thanked Fortilla and started telling her how much he missed her over the years. With tears in her eyes, Fortilla passionately hugged Monoletius. Fortilla soon married Perseus and brought her mother back into the palace. Fortilla claimed the throne and became Queen of Boxon.
 The End!
