1. Materials: 3 inch diameter pcv pipe used for the launcher.

Pvc with schrader and psi gage

Procedure: Connect 3 in diameter pipe to the valve and then connect to pvc with schrader and psi
gage.
Close Valve
Use a air compresser, portable air tank, or a simple bike pump to fill air canister with 20 PSI.
Fill the launcher end with two cups of water.
Place water balloon all the way down.
Hold launcher at an angle of 75 degrees.
Quickly release the air by pulling the valve handle to the left.
Dump out excess water and repeat steps 2-7 to launch again.

Conclusion= Everything turned out good and how we expected but we ran into some problems
and discoveries. Our launcher had no trouble launching the balloon to the preferred distance. At
first we tried filling the canister with about 50 psi and found our balloon flying over 60 meters. We
also discovered that the biggest factor in the launch is the balloon size. If the balloon fit securely
in the tube it would have a very effienct launch usually going farther than the rest. If the balloon fit
too secure there would be too much direct pressure causing the balloon to pop. If the balloon was
smaller more power would be needed since there is wasted space in the tube. The angle of the
launcher was also a big factor. Too low of an angle would send it flying far, but a more upright
angle would give it more of an arch hitting closer to the desired target. After much practice our
launcher became an accurate and precise launcher.
Improvement recommendations(3) = 1. Find a way to keep a steady and consistant accurate
angle, to reduce differentiating shots.
2. Since the balloon size was the biggest variable, find an exact amount of water to fill up the
balloon to a size that will fit the best in to tube.
3. Find a way to have a consist release on the valve. A slow release caused a slow launch and a
fast released caused a long shot or the balloon would pop.
