important in Primary Schools?
PDHPE teaches children about healthy life
choices and how to make these choices
count. It helps them to experience and
develop positive relationships, an enriched
quality of life as well as an encouraging
outlook towards health.

PDHPE as one of the six key learning areas
in NSW. PDHPE teaching is an important as

O Living and learning a safe secure environment.
O The adoption of an active lifestyle.
O Fundamental movement patterns and coordinated actions of
the body.
O Skills that enable action for better health and movement
outcomes.
4. Overall, the aim of PDHPE teaching is to
develop each student’s skills, attitudes and
values needed to lead a healthy, active,
fulfilling life. In doing so children are
stimulated to make a productive and
responsible role within our modern society.
