laska Kenai Discovery is an action-packed adventure at the top of the world. With almost 24 hours of daylight it is like having two weeks for the price of one. See BIG wildlife like whales, bears, and moose in their natural environment. Sea kayak with marine mammals and diving birds, trek on a massive glacier, explore temperate rainforest, meet native Alaskans and participate in conservation projects.
All of these exciting activities for the week are designed to allow students to learn about the geology, ecology, and history of south central Alaska from local guides and native people. Students will become aware of not just the physical forces changing the landscape, but also on the affects of climate change on south central Alaska’s ecology. Our classroom is located in ground zero for climate change. From melting glaciers to warming salmon streams, students will see how a warmer climate is changing coastal Alaska and how this affects not just the ecology, but the people that live there, Alaska’s tourism, and its natural resources.
2. Alaska Kenai Discovery!
Experience the coolest summer experience! You will see and explore Alaska
like a native. This is a small group adventure limited to 14 students.
Activities include sea kayaking, glacier climbing, whale watching, hiking in
the temperate rainforest, cultural interaction with the Kenaitze Tribe and
participating in local conservation projects.
Educationally our focus will be on the ecology of the Kenai Fjords including
the human dimensions of resource management and the effects of climate
change on the region for all living things.
7. “This trip has changed me. Most of the things we did I haven’t
done before simply because I didn’t think I could. Now I know
that nothing is impossible. I can do anything and that
knowledge is something that I will always be grateful for.”

very interesting. Although anything could be
interesting if it is taught on top of a glacier! Dan C.
