1. まつり ひな Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival) ひな祭りは 3 月 3 日に行われます。それは女の子 のお祝いであり、女の子の成長と幸福を願う日で す。人々は５段か７段のひな壇に、平安時代の美 しい古代の宮廷衣装を着た人形一式を飾ります。 内裏びな、三人官女、五人囃、右大臣・左大臣、 三人仕丁です。人形は人々を病気や不運から守っ てくれると信じられていました。また、ちょうど 桃の季節なので、今では桃の節句という美しい名 で親しまれています。桃も昔から祓う霊木とされ ています。地域によっては、少女たちは美しい 着物を着てひな祭りの前に集まり、甘いあられ （雛あられ）を食べたり白酒を飲んだりしなが ら、楽しい時を過ごします。 The Doll Festival is held annually every March 3. This day represents a celebration for girls, where people pray for girls’ growth and happiness. People display a set of Hina Dolls, beautifully clad in ancient court costumes from the Heian Era, on a five- to seven-tiered platform. These dolls include emperor and empress dolls, three courts ladies, five court musicians, two ministers, and three servants. The dolls were believed to protect people from sickness and ill-fortune. Furthermore, because this festival takes place when peaches are in season, it is also widely known as Momo no Sekku (The Peach Festival). Peaches have also been said from long ago to ward off evil. In some regions, girls dress in lovely kimonos and get together before the Doll festival to eat Hina-arare, drink white sake, and enjoy one another’s company.
2. まつり ひな 平安時代頃から、扇はあおぐという役割だけで なく、儀礼や贈答、コミュニケーションの道具 としても用いられた。 具体的には和歌を書いて贈ったり、花を載せて 贈ったりしたことが、多くの文学作品や歴史書に 書かれている。数本から数十本の細長い骨組みを 束ねて端の一点（要）で固定し、使わないときは 折りたたみ、使用時に展開する。骨にはたいてい 和紙が貼られている。 Beginning in the Heian Era, the fan’ s role expanded from that of simple fanning to being used as a tool for ceremonies, g ift-giving, and communication as well. 3. まつり ひな 束帯の着用の際、右手に持つ細長い板である。 ６世紀に中国から伝来し、日本では初めは朝廷の 公事を行うときに、備忘のため式次第を笏紙と いう紙に書いて笏の裏に貼って用いていた。 後に、重要な儀式や神事に際し、持つ人の威儀を 正すために持つようになった。 今日では束帯を日常的に着用するのは神職ぐらい であり、従って笏も神職が持つ物となっている。 The shaku is an elongated baton often seen held in the right hand of those wearing a s okutai (nobleman’s formal attire).
