Two photos, one photo competition, you decide which is the best picture

2. During the summer, Littlehampton
Town Council held a photographic
competition.

3. They wanted photos that showed
“a favourite view” of the English
seaside town.

4. Entrants could submit up to
six photographs.

5. The competition was judged by
Councillor Mike Northeast,
Kate Honey (designer of the
Council’s Progress newsletter) and
Malcolm McCluskey, a photographer
with the Littlehampton Gazette.

6. The winners were announced in
mid-November

7. This is the photo chosen as being the
best image of Littlehampton...

9. And this is the one they awarded
joint second place to...

14. My photograph was the
one that came second.

15. When I saw the winning picture, I
have to say I was amazed.

16. I think it’s a lousy photo.

17. It includes the biggest eyesore in
Littlehampton - the huge gas
tank - something that no picture
intended to promote the town
should ever feature.

18. It’s washed out and even cuts
off the body of a swan!
