A+ Certification
PHILADELPHIA--(Business Wire)--
Peirce College is offering an intensive Information Technology preparation
course for individuals interested in A+ Certification.
"Earning CompTIA A+ Certification demonstrates that you possess the skills and
knowledge essential to be a successful computer service professional," said
Brian Finnegan, Associate Professor & Faculty Chair, Information Technology at
Peirce College.
"Individuals aspiring to enter a career in IT or build a foundation for their
career ideally need three key elements," Finnegan said.
CompTIA A+ certification is an internationally recognized, vendor-neutral
certification that many employers consider a prerequisite for entry-level
employment. Certification is even more important if individuals do not have the
required education and/or work experience, especially if they are changing
careers. "PC support and helpdesk services is a
2. stable career choice as it supports the infrastructure of an organization,"
Finnegan added. Peirce College is
accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, 3624 Market
Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19104 (phone: 267-284-5000).

A+ certification signifies that the individual is capable of performing tasks
such as installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of common PC systems,
as well as basic networking skills. A+ certification is ideal for those who want to upgrade their
skills, as well as those who seek to enter the IT marketplace or have just
started in IT and wish to gain a basic understanding of computer technology.
CompTIA calls A+ the industry standard for entry-level computer technicians and
a proven career door-opener.
CompTIA certifies the competency of service and support technicians, networking
professionals and security professionals through these globally recognized
certifications. The Association
of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs accredits the College's business
program and the Paralegal Studies program is approved by the American Bar
Association. In the Philadelphia region, before
joining Peirce, he had primary responsibility for teaching MCSE courses for a
number of clients including Rohm & Haas, GlaxoSmithKline, McGuire AFB and
McNeil. He is also a
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), a Microsoft
Certified System Engineer (MCSE), a Certified Technical Trainer and has a
Network + Certification. Many training
companies went away with the .com bubble. The A+
3. certification earns students who apply to Peirce credit for a 3-credit
introductory course in personal computing fundamentals.
The certification is also approved by the U.S. His deep experience in high-level corporate training
programs
includes clients such as Xerox and IBM. Companies regularly require their IT employees to have
certification."
Although the IT industry has weathered the recession well and is still growing,
Finnegan said, "There are fewer training resources today. He has taught A+ Certification for 12
years. Professor Stokes
joined Peirce in 2001. Peirce`s A+ Certification course and exam are very
cost competitive compared with the larger training companies, as well as many
community colleges in the region. Scheduled to begin April
19 at Peirce`s center city campus, the accelerated, two-week, eight-day course
also enables attendees to take the certification exam on the final day. "First and most
important, education; then relevant work experience and certification-related
credentials.
