2. TASK 1: STANDING ON A STREET
CORNER
We all did this separately
Aimee: awkward, hard to not do anything and stay still in
one spot, people were looking felt uncomfortable instantly
wanted to move and look and things but I couldn’t .
Jess: I felt out of place man in a van stopped to looked at
me, very aware of what's going on around me. Hard not to
get my phone out and text which is what I do when I'm
alone.
Casey: Felt hard to stand still, people in cars looking at me
but at the same time many people didn’t notice and walked
on by as if I was just another person on the street.
5. WALKING BACKWARDS
Casey: A man on the fruit stall shouted ‘watch where you're going love’ which
made me nervous but knew I could trust who I was with. Felt slightly unstable
and confused as to where I was going even though I know campus well.
Jess: Felt better with my umbrella up so no one could notice me. Couple of
girls looking at me strangely which made me uncomfortable.
Aimee: uncomfortable, disorientated, thought I was going to trip over. Have
to trust partners so that you don’t bang into something. However I did walk
into a pole.
Overall we felt people were focused on the rain rather than us walking
backwards so many people were staring at the floor or saw us as obstacles that
they had to get around. We were an inconvenience.
