1HourFlex™ Conversion System by Alkol Inc

Technical FAQ
1 – What is it?
The 1HourFlex is a 3 component conversion system that allows in 1 hour any fuel injected car to
use any amount of ethanol (“E85”) or gasoline

2 – What are the components?
2.1 – Electronic converter
Suggested Retail Price: Around US$200

2.2 – Ignition Remapper
Suggested Retail Price: Around US$250

2.3 – Cold Start System
Suggested Retail Price: Around US$150

3 – How does it work?
The system tackles all the main issues surrounding ethanol usage: its lower BTU when
compared to gasoline, the need to be above 65 F, and the need to have longer burn time and
higher compression rates.
1 - Electronic Converter – Extends the time the injectors stay open, allowing more ethanol to
enter the combustion chambers

2 - Ignition Remapper – Alters the time the spark plugs will fire, allowing longer burn times and
also slightly higher compression rates. EXCLUSIVE TECHNOLOGY ALKOL: NOBODY HAS
THIS!

3 - Cold Start System – Injects a small amount of gasoline at start time allowing the engine to
warm and therefore ethanol to be burned properly

4 – What are the technical advantages of ethanol?
4.1 – Cheaper at the gas pump: Alcohol is on average 17% cheaper than gasoline
4.2 – Better mileage: Alcohol has 105 octanes, so it misfires less, and burns better at higher
speeds
4.3 – Cleaner: Alcohol is alkaline and has a higer oxygen content, so it cleans the engine
naturally

5 – What are the boundaries on alcohol the system allows for?
The system can go from 0 to 100% alcohol automatically without the driver having to do
anything

6 – Are there cases in which it is not recommended to install?
We will not install on cars with over 100K kilometers or before 1994, as the engines have too
much carbon buildup which will eventually be released and end up clogging the fuel injectors.
Experience has proven however that people with old cars do not spend money flexing them, so
they are not our customers anyways.

7 – Is the compression rate changed?
YES: to an extent. In fact, alcohol can run on gasoline engines (albeit at a small energy penalty)
due to the lower than required compression rate of gasoline engines. Yet the opposite does not
happen: gasoline cannot be fueled on engines made exclusively for alcohol. That because
these have a higher compression ratio that would make gasoline (which has a lower octane
rate) misfire. Our technology however alters the time spark plugs fire, thereby allowing a higher
than usual compression rate and offering unparallel performance.

8 – What are the main differences between the 1HourFlex and the others?
8.1 – 30 years expertise: The others have at best 3 years.
8.2 – Complete solution. Will work with any car in any weather. The others depend on external
gasoline tanks for cold starts the customer will have to buy and install himself.
8.3 – Transparent to the end customer. The others require the user to install it himself and for
that he needs to inform the fuel injector connector type, for example

9 – What are the sensors the system uses?
The 1hourflex system monitors the gas pedal, lambda, phonic wheel signals going to the ECU
and alters them accordingly. It also monitors the engine temperature and modifies its
parameters as the engine warms up.

10 – Will this system alter the car´s warranty?
Not at all, since it is 100% removable. Many our clients do not have cars within the builder´s
warranty time anyways.

11 – What happens if the system malfunctions during a trip?
The device has a “SOS” that can override the system, thereby allowing the car to return to
factory specs immediately and thus allowing to reach technical assistance.
