2. Problem Statement
To measure the service quality of the car
maintenance procedure as there is always
doubt in customer’s mind that what has been
done by the service station?
Whether we should follow the periodic service
schedule specified by manufacturer or not

3. Introduction
Maintenance can be described as the
activities required to conserve as nearly as
long as possible the original condition of an
vehicle while compensating for normal wear
and tear.
A vehicle service is a maintenance
procedure carried out at a set time interval or
after the particular distance vehicle has
travelled.

4. Six Steps in an Automotive Repair Job
Servicing Jobs vary from simple to difficult. No
repair job requires more than six steps. These are:
1.Measuring

4.Installing new, rebuilt, or serviced parts

rebuilt up.

Distance-based Maintenance
Vehicle driven frequently
Degree of wear is recorded when the vehicle is moving(not in
case of stationary or used as an engine)
Customer’s Request Maintenance
Independent of intervals

Benz. Remaining inspection part of the vehicle
are following :
Basic Service, Electronics Checks, Engine
Compartment, Transmission.
Brake System.
Additional check points: Age/mileage-wise,
whichever comes earlier.

23. Diagnosis
Start diagnosis by connecting the Star Xentary
and get the information in the form of Initial Quick
test report on Tough Book

24. Service Process
Engine Oil
Vacuum
Extractor
Dipstick
Dipstick and Vacuum Extractor use to measure
and extraction of engine oil

25. Oil Filter
After extraction of engine oil, replace the dirty oil
filter with new oil filter

26. Now after replacement of oil filter according the engine
capacity and by MB guidance fill engine oil of
specification MB 229.3 and grade of SAE5W-40
and finally check the amount value of engine oil by
dipstick

27. So as per service schedule or request we will go further
which includes other fluids and parameters to perform
the service process at workshop. Some of the fluids are
following:
1.Brake oil(DOT 4 Plus MB spec. 331.0)
2.Coolant top-up
3.Windshield washer bottle top-up(with MB
recommended fluid)

completion of workshop process :

Battery Report
Service Check sheet
AQT report
Initial Quick test report
Instrument Cluster value report
Service Reset confirmation print out
Final Quick Test report

29. Send the car for final inspection and hence service
completed
