► Use the jack or stand on a flat, horizontal, sufficiently firm surface.

Removal
► Remove the electric starting motor. The electric starting motor and the engine flywheel housing can be
removed as one unit.
► Remove the bolts securing the engine flywheel housing to the cylinder block and the bolts securing the
engine flywheel housing to the oil sump.
► Remove the engine flywheel housing from the block.
The engine flywheel housing weighs 70 kg.
Fitting
► Inspect and clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and the engine flywheel housing. Remove any
product or sealing material previously applied.
Do not apply sealing product to the gasket or to the mating surfaces on these housings.

5. ► Fit a new camshaft O-ring (1).
► Fit the seal (2).
Respect the technical specifications from the overview.
► Fit the engine flywheel housing on the cylinder block and tighten the mounting bolts to the recommended
torque respecting the tightening order.

Removal
► Before carrying out any removal operations, if the tractor is equipped with a suspended front axle, position
the front axle in the top position in manual mode. (7 Use → 7.3 Chassis).

9. ► Fit 10-cm-high wooden chocks between the end stops on the suspended front axle and the front chassis.
These operations make it easy to position the uncoupling trolleys afterwards.
► Disconnect the battery.
► Drain the engine oil.
► Drain the coolant circuit.
► Drain the air conditioning circuit.
► Drain the transmission.
► Decompress the front axle suspension circuit (if fitted).

► Drain the pneumatic braking circuit.
► If equipped with a front linkage, remove the engine bonnet.

► If equipped with side members, remove the main tank.

10. If equipped with a front linkage:
► Undo and remove the bolts (1) and (2).
► Remove the closure panels (3).
► Loosen the clamps (1) and (2) and disconnect the hoses.
► Disconnect the unions (1).
► Disconnect the air conditioning ducts (2).

12. If equipped with a front linkage:
► Using a suitable lifting tool, hold the cooler assembly at the lifting points (1).
If equipped with a front linkage:
► Undo and remove the bolts (1).
► Remove the cooler assembly (1).
The cooler assembly weighs 95 kg.
If equipped with a front linkage:

13. ► Disconnect the connectors (1).
► Detach and remove the wiring harness (2) up to the front of the cab.
On the right-hand side of the tractor (depending on the equipment):
► Disconnect the unions (1).
► Undo and remove the bolts (2).
On the left-hand side of the tractor (depending on the equipment):
► Disconnect the unions (1).

14. Under the cab:
If equipped with a suspended front axle:
► Disconnect the connector (1).
► Detach and remove the wiring harness up to the front chassis.
► Position the tractor as horizontally as possible.
► Position the uncoupling trolleys (1) under the tractor.
The trolley at the front of the tractor must be positioned under the front linkage or under the weight
block (depending on equipment).
If equipped with a suspended front axle, the central trolley must be positioned under the suspension
arm of the suspended front axle.
If equipped with a fixed front axle, the central trolley must be positioned under the front axle.
The trolley at the rear of the tractor must be positioned by the flywheel housing, without obstructing
removal of the sump.

15. If equipped with a front power take-off:
► Undo and remove the bolts (1).
► Disconnect the front power take-off shaft (2).
If equipped with a suspended front axle:
► Undo and remove the bolt (1).
► Remove the shaft (2).
► Undo and remove the bolts (3) from the universal drive shaft.
If the bolts are not accessible, release the handbrake and the automatic parking brake (if fitted), lift one front
wheel only then rotate it until the universal drive shaft is in a suitable position.
► Disconnect the universal drive shaft.
► Lower the uncoupling trolley located under the front axle suspension arm to tilt the suspension arm fully.

► Undo and remove the bolts (1).
► Disconnect the connector (2).
► If necessary, remove the connector (3).

► Remove the clamp (1).

19. ► Fit a suitable lifting device under the sump (1).
► Undo and remove all the bolts from the sump.
► Remove the sump (1).
The sump on a 6-cylinder engine weighs 60 kg.
The sump on a 4-cylinder engine weighs 57 kg.
► Remove and dispose of the sump seal.
Fitting
► Inspect and clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and the engine flywheel housing. Remove any
product or sealing material previously applied.
► Apply a layer of Loctite (515) to the connections (1) between the cylinder block and the engine flywheel
housing, the front panel and the timing cover.
