Spanish Trip in 2012

  1. 1. Spanish or american Culture class (using web 2.0)• When Teaching english or spanish as a 2nd language, the culture of the language must be included• Integrate your material with matrial found on the web 2.0 links• I start with photos from a trip to spain and the historical sites we visited.• The first one is mérida, españa,where the romans built huge arenas , aquaducts to carry water , theaters and coliseums ( mostly to entertain themselves )
  2. 2. What’s left of the roman aqueducts in The city of mérida, españa. Thesewould carry water from the faraway river to the city. Storks (Cigueñas)have built huge nests on top & this contributed to the partial destruction.
  3. 3. This is What’s left of the temple of the mythical godess, diana
  4. 4. Another section of the aqueduct in mérida, españa• This section of the aqueduct would continue carrying water to the central part of the city• Most of the arches that were part of the supports have been destroyed by time, weather, the storks and other elements.• These aqueducts were sometimes many miles long• In the following video, you will be able to see how long these roman built aqueducts could run• These are some aqueducts in san lázaro, España
