Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a unique PET and CT service offered by CIMED de COSTA RICA S.A. in Costa Rica and nearby regions. PET uses biologically active compounds traced with radioactive isotopes to non-invasively image cellular metabolism and is useful for cancer staging, monitoring treatment response, and detecting recurrence or metastases in oncology, as well as evaluating tumors, recurrence and radionecrosis in neurology and assessing myocardial viability in cardiology. The facility is strategically located near the international airport and offers PET/CT scans, ultrasounds, mammograms, and radiation oncology services.
