also was the god of the sky. His weapon
was the thunderbolt. Still another job of
Zeus's was the god of hospitality.

5. • Zeus' parents are Kronos and Rheia, and
just as Hera is Zeus' sister-wife, Rheia
was Kronos' sister-wife, so Zeus'
grandparents are Gaia & Ouranos.
Latinized transliterations of some of these
names are Rhea, Cronus, Gaea, and
Uranus.

the place of Uranos and Kronos. While
Poseidon ruled the seas and Hades ruled the
underworld, Zeus was the master of the earth
and the skies. His home was on the top of
Mount Olympus. The high soaring eagle was
sacred to him as were cloud-topped
mountains. Although Zeus was the ruler and
preserver of the world he had many human
weaknesses like he could be jealous.
