2 X 300 MW EMCO ENERGY THERMAL POWER PROJECT
AT WARORA, CHANDRAPUR DISTT., MAHARASHTRA, INDIA
For
Conveyance of sourced water from Wardha River near Marda Village to the Thermal
Power Plant at Warora, (“Water Conveyance Package”)

GMR Group is a global infrastructure major with interests in Airports, Energy, Highways and
Urban Infrastructure. GMR Energy Ltd. (GEL), the flagship company of GMR Group, currently
owns & operates Energy Assets of 810 MW and the Group is also currently developing around
4000 MW of power projects. Several Hydro Projects of capacity totalling around 1600 MW in
India / overseas are under advance stages of development. Further, GMR had acquired 50%
stake in Inter Gen N.V., a 13000 MW power generation company with global footprint, largest –
ever acquisition of a global energy utility by an Indian company.
EMCO Energy Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of GMR Energy Limited, is developing a 2X300
MW coal based thermal power project (“Project”) at Warora, District Chandrapur, Maharashtra.
This notice is for the Tender Document of Water Conveyance Package for the above said project.

Bids in sealed envelopes in two parts are invited from eligible bidders for the above package as
per the scope of work mentioned in the Tender Documents.
Qualifying Requirements:-
A. Technical:
1. The Bidder, either directly by itself or through its subsidiary companies/parent company /joint
venture partners, should have experience of executing EPC contract of supplying,
laying, jointing, testing and commissioning of Mild Steel/ DI/GRP Pipeline for water

2. transmission of diameter 500 mm or more for at least 10 KM long in single contract
which is in successful operation at least for two years.
2. In case of consortium, the consortium members should jointly satisfy the qualifying criteria
stated above.
B. Financial:
1. The bidder/ Lead bidder (in case of consortium), shall have an average turnover of Rs.25.0
(twenty five) Crores during the last three financial years.
2. The bidder should have successfully completed at least one project of similar nature having a
single contract value of Rs.12 (twelve) Crores during the last three financial years.
Notwithstanding anything stated above, the Owner reserves the right to assess the Applicant’s /
Bidder’s capability to perform the work, should the circumstances warrant such assessment in the
overall interest of the Owner.
Due importance shall be given to competitive price, previous track record of on time completion,
quality of work, technical capability etc.
Issue of Tender Documents:-
Interested bidders who meet the above qualification criteria may submit their requests for tender
documents to EEL’s Bangalore Office (contact details provided below) along with particulars of
their experience / expertise, present work commitments, and other supporting documents (in
case such documents are in language other than English, it should be submitted with duly
translated versions in English) and non refundable payment of Rs.10,000 in case of domestic
bidders or USD 250 in case of foreign bidders towards the cost of Tender in the form of crossed
demand draft drawn in favour of EMCO Energy Limited payable at Bangalore.

Tender documents can also be collected by the authorised representatives of the Bidder upon
presenting the authorisation letter in original to this effect at the time of collection of tender
documents. Soft copies of Tender Documents can be sent by courier for overseas bidders
provided their request along with the document fee is received by EEL on or before the stipulated
date (EEL will not be responsible for any delay, loss or any other damage to the documents/
discs in such cases). The interested bidders at their option may also obtain a user ID and

documents issued are not transferrable. EEL reserves the right not to issue the tender documents
to any of the bidders without assigning any reason.
Scope of Work in brief:
“Water Conveyance Package” comprising Engineering, Procurement and Construction of all the
works related to the Supply and laying of pumping main from the Pumphouse at Wardha River
Source near Marda Village to the Thermal Power Plant Site near Warora, including the structures
needed at the crossings of the roadways, pathways etc and at crossing of the water bodies such
as Canals, streams, drains etc, including provision of all the accessaries and appurtenances on
the Pumping main attending to all Civil and Mechanical works involved, pressure and other
testing of the pipeline and commissioning of the pipeline.
