2. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7 Because of the surpassing
greatness of the revelations, for this
reason, to keep me from exalting
myself, there was given me a thorn in
the flesh, a messenger of Satan to
torment me—to keep me from
exalting myself!
3. 8 Concerning this I implored the Lord
three times that it might leave me.
9 And He has said to me, “My grace
is sufficient for you, for power is
perfected in weakness.” Most gladly,
therefore, I will rather boast about my
weaknesses, so that the power of
Christ may dwell in me.
4. 10 Therefore I am well content with
weaknesses, with insults,
with distresses, with persecutions, with
difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I
am weak, then I am strong.
5. 11 Now a certain man was sick,
Lazarus of Bethany, the village of
Mary and her sister Martha.
2 It was the Mary who anointed the
Lord with ointment, and wiped His
feet with her hair, whose brother
Lazarus was sick. 3 So the sisters
sent word to Him, saying, “Lord,
behold, he whom You love is sick.”
John 11:1-6
6. 4 But when Jesus heard this, He
said, “This sickness is not to end in
death, but for the glory of God, so
that the Son of God may be
glorified by it.” 5 Now Jesus
loved Martha and her sister and
Lazarus. 6 So when He heard that he
was sick, He then stayed two
days longer in the place where He
was.
John 11:1-6

15. Physical Illness
Gal 4:13-15
13 As you know, it was because of an
illness that I first preached the gospel to
you, 14 and even though my illness was a
trial to you, you did not treat me with
contempt or scorn. Instead, you
welcomed me as if I were an angel of
God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself.
16. Physical Illness
Gal 4:13-15
15 Where, then, is your blessing of me
now? I can testify that, if you could have
done so, you would have torn out your
eyes and given them to me.
17. Genesis 39:17 – 20
17 Then she told him this story: “That
Hebrew slave you brought us came to
me to make sport of me. 18 But as
soon as I screamed for help, he left
his cloak beside me and ran out of the
house.”19 When his master heard the
story his wife told him, saying, “This is
how your slave treated me,” he
burned with anger.
18. 20 Joseph’s master took him and put
him in prison, the place where the
king’s prisoners were confined.
But while Joseph was there in the
prison, 21 the LORD was with him; he
showed him kindness and granted
him favor in the eyes of the prison
warden. .
19. 22 So the warden put Joseph in
charge of all those held in the prison,
and he was made responsible for all
that was done there. 23 The warden
paid no attention to anything under
Joseph’s care, because the LORD was
with Joseph and gave him success in
whatever he did.
23. 33 “I have told you these things, so that
in me you may have peace. In this
world you will have trouble. But take
