12. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.
GALATIANS 5:22-23
13.
14. Community itself is
being brought by
people to whom the
Holy Spirit resides not
just mere friendship but
a miracle that occurs in
the supernatural.
15. Community is
something we cannot
build in ourselves alone
but what God builds
between hearts that are
redeemed and
redeeming, transformed
and transforming, loved
and loving.
29. Each person of the
Trinity understands and
cooperates with the
responsibilities of the
other members of the
triune community.
30. 10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters,
make every effort to confirm your calling
and election. For if you do these things,
you will never stumble,
1 PETER 1:10
33. 29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come
out of your mouths, but only what is
helpful for building others up according to
their needs, that it may benefit those who
listen.
EPHESIANS 4:29
35. Submission is an
acknowledgement of
role and responsibility,
not worth or value.
“Submission” is
willingly yielding to the
authority and direction
of another.
36. 21 Submit to one another out of
reverence for Christ.
EPHESIANS 5:21
38. Unity is the correct
understanding and
functioning of role and
responsibility,
communication, and
submission.
The Trinity is functioning
in their roles and
responsibilities in perfect
alignment and unison.
39. 10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all
of you agree with one another in what you
say and that there be no divisions
among you, but that you be perfectly
united in mind and thought.
1 CORINTHIANS 1:10
41. The Trinity exist in a
perfect love relationship.
The reason they could be
successful at creation and
redemption is because
they are in perfect
community, perfect
intimacy, and perfect
oneness.
42. True intimacy is both the
mutual expression of
love and the willingness
to be vulnerable.
43. It is acknowledging our
sin and our struggles
and then allowing
others to speak into our
lives, whether words of
correction or
encouragement.
44. 34 "A new command I give you: Love one
another. As I have loved you, so you
must love one another.
JOHN 13:34
47. 1 Having loved his own who were in the
world, he loved them to the end… 2 Jesus
knew that the Father had put all things
under his power, and that he had come
from God and was returning to God; 4 so
he got up from the meal, took off his outer
clothing, and wrapped a towel around his
waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a
basin and began to wash his disciples’
feet,…
JOHN 13:1-17
48. 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to
him, “Lord, are you going to wash my
feet?” 7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize
now what I am doing, but later you will
understand.” 8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall
never wash my feet.” Jesus answered,
“Unless I wash you, you have no part
with me.” 9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter
replied, “not just my feet but my hands and
my head as well!”
JOHN 13:1-17
49. 12 When he had finished washing their
feet, he put on his clothes and returned to
his place. “Do you understand what I have
done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call
me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so,
for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your
Lord and Teacher, have washed your
feet, you also should wash one another’s
feet. 15 I have set you an example that you
should do as I have done for you.
JOHN 13:1-17
50. The dirt that their feet
accumulated while
walking are the sins they
continue to commit while
they are with Jesus.
Jesus do not simply
washing their feet but
actually forgiving their
sins. - Jesus models
forgiveness.
51.
52. 31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift
all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed
for you, Simon, that your faith may not
fail. And when you have turned back,
strengthen your brothers.”
33 But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go
with you to prison and to death.”
34 Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter,
before the rooster crows today, you will
deny three times that you know me.”
LUKE 22:31-34
53. Community is place
where people pray one
another back to God,
not just praying for
hedges around people
but praying for returned
bridges to people’s
lives.
54.
55. Jesus models a
community is the most
loving, forgiving and
compassionate way
even to the very people
that denied Him,
betrayed Him and
deserted Him.
56.
57.
58. 1 Therefore if you have any encouragement
from being united with Christ, if any comfort
from his love, if any common sharing in the
Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2 then
make my joy complete by being like-minded,
having the same love, being one in spirit
and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish
ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility
value others above yourselves, 4 not looking
to your own interests but each of you to the
interests of the others.
