Assessment about Liberty Insurance

1. Liberty mutual group is one of the world’s leading property and casualty
insurance companies. Liberty Insurance is a 100%-U.S.-invested non-life
insurance firm and a member of Liberty Mutual Insurance. Liberty Mutual
ranked 82nd among the 100 largest groups in the U.S. based on revenues in
2010 with total assets worth US$112.4 billion and total revenues of US$33.2
billion.
In Vietnam ,Liberty insurance is also one of the most prestigious
companies . After five years of operation, Liberty Insurance now ranks
seventh in terms of insurance premiums among 29 non-life insurance firms
in Vietnam. Liberty Insurance offers many types of products but it seems
that the most successful products in vietnam market is automobile insurance.
According to a recent survey conducted by the consulting firm Cimigo with
over 1,000 automobile insurance buyers nationwide, Liberty was the most
favorite automobile insurer with over 82% of customers saying they were
satisfied with its service quality.
With the question : “ When it comes to car insurance , what is the first brand
do you think about ?” - 24% of respondents said at the Insurance Liberty,
followed by English (23%), PJICO (13%) and PVI (11%). The survey also
pointed out that Liberty has won the largest market share in Ho Chi Minh
City while Bao Viet’s having advantage in Hanoi and other areas .
In the late August /2012 , Liberty Insurance Limited has announced to
increase its investment capital by VND209 billion to over VND1.204
trillion, equivalent to around US$60 million after acknowledging the 24%
growth in Car Insurance sector . Carlos Vanegas, CEO of Liberty Insurance,

2. said that the capital increase would help the firm continue to invest in
information technology, human resource training, product diversification
and service quality improvement in order to achieve their goal to be one of
the top five non-life insurers operating in Vietnam.
Among many non-life foreign insurance companies in Vietnam , Liberty is
considered to have the most awards in their field. They have won many
awards including “the Golden Brand – 2009” , “Golden Dragon -2009”
….and recently ,in the eary March,2012 they was awarded Golden Dragon
prize as “the best non-life insurance company” by the viewers of Vietnam
Economic Times . It is a remarkable turning – point in 5 years operating in
Vietnam. It can easily say that Liberty has won the Vietnam market with
tremendous success.
