MIT’s administrative community demonstrated that it’s already off to the races when it comes to invention. The jam-packed annual poster session on October 14 brought together 26 sponsoring DLCs and hundreds of Institute community members eager for a preview of what’s next at MIT.
1. MIT SAFETY COMMITTEE
Assist the Institute in providing a safe and
healthy workplace for all faculty, staff and
students; provide oversight and direction to
the Environment, Health and Safety Office
safety programs and serve in an advisory
capacity on safety issues to the Institute
Council on Environment, Health and Safety
by:
• Developing policies or position statements related
to physical safety.
• Identifying areas/topics where there is a need for
an Institute policy, program or other actions and
directing EHS (or other appropriate group) to
develop.
• Reviewing and endorsing relevant policies and
implementation plans that EHS Office develops
• Providing expert judgment on systems and
infrastructure risks at MIT and serve as
counselors on appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Periodically reporting on the Committee’s findings
and recommendations to the Institute Council on
Environment, Health and Safety.
