story cubes

1. Idea:
Students of all countries write several stories. All stories are divided in two parts.These
two parts were written on different pages. After the first part there is a math task related
to the story. The topics should be solvable for students of grade 5 or 6 who know natural
numbers and calculations with fractions and/or decimals.There could be word problems or
pure math tasks. If there is more than one task all results have to be resumed by one final
calculation to a number between 5 and 99.
How to do it:
Story Cubes is availabe as app of 1,75 € (also existing as a real game with cubes and can be
easily orderd e.g. via Amazon). You have to throw 9 cubes that are illustrated on each side.
Then order the 9 cubes so that you can tell a story or a fairy tale using the illustrations on
top of the cubes. Don’t forget to make a screenshot of it (if you use your mobile phone) or
take a picture of the ordered cubes. If you use pictures from Google Images please mark
the order of cubes in this picture. ( In the folder in the TS there will be some pictures if
you like to start directly).
Then write the story of two pages as described above. You may add photos if you like.
Another page should be used for title, your names, country and pictures of your cubes.
Then?
The two story pages of each story are mixed up with other stories in an online book. We
need two PDF files, one with the titel page and the first part of the story, the second with
the second part of your story, the PDF with titel and first part gets 1 in its filename, the
the second part 2 in its filename.
Where to send?
Please send your 3 PDFfiles to your teacher until 6th december. To have a nice crazy story
book we need 5 stories from each country.
