Essay about Germany
Germany is the fourth largest country in area in
Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square
kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has
a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal
flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central
area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily
forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the
south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich
culture, but it did not become a unified nation until
1871. Before that time, Germany had been a
confederacy (1815–1867).
The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997
estimate). Germany is overwhelmingly urban, and
most people lead a prosperous, comfortable lifestyle,
with adequate leisure time and comprehensive

Stretching from the Baltic and North seas to the Alps,
Germany measures about 800 kilometers (about 500
miles) from north to south; the country extends about
600 km (about 400 miles) from west to east. In
addition to coastline and mountains, the varied
terrain includes forests, hills, plains, and river valleys.
Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and
canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine,
and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the
Baltic.
Germany has a mostly moderate climate,
characterized by cool winters and warm summers.
River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and
somewhat warmer in both winter and summer,
whereas mountain areas can be much colder.
Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the
south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force
incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in
the form of rain and snow.
Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or
great economic disparity. Crime levels are
substantially lower than those in the United States,
and the possession of guns is controlled. However,
there are substantial numbers of homeless people
and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug
abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary
in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s.
They occur often enough to make law and order a

Essay on Website Design
Facebook, Myspace, Yahoo, Google, and Twitter are all websites that people use every day, but
how did they get there and how were they created? Website design is a process of assorting and
linking codes and graphics into a text editor such as notepad and then displaying it onto a web
browser. There is a large amount of things to remember for website design. Ranging from HTML,
CSS, and XHTML codes to scripting languages like Java Script. Website design has a vast history
considering it is a fairly young profession. Website design uses complex codes to create web pages
in addition with programs aiding in the creation; when you join the two components together it is a
long complicated process that ends in purchasing a domain name for a...show more content...
Websites did not need to be big, elaborate, and flashy. They just needed to get the point across, and
that is exactly the purpose they served. In 1994 the World Wide WebConsortim or W3C was
established to oversee the development of web technology standards. The W3C designated
HTML as the primary code language for the future of website design to be based on. Of course
they have made advancements in the base design code such as HTML versions one, two, three,
four, and XHTML. The very first and current director of W3C is Tim Berners–Lee. Tim actually
invented the World Wide Web in 1991 and created the world's first website. He put the first
website online on August 6, 1991. The web address was http://info.cern.ch/. Unfortunately it no
longer exists in its original form. The W3C is still in charge of code techniques and development
guidelines that website development follows. Technology has advanced over the years in web
design. Website design is cut up into four generations. The first generation of web design was
very simple. It was basically just text, this was because early modems were very slow and plain
basic webpages would load much faster this way. The second generation was slightly more
advanced as the development of HTML became more complicated. The third generation of web
design is when website designers could add vibrant colors and animated images to their webpage.

Essay On Cognitive Intervention
Site Visit Cognitive behavioral techniques are used during a counseling session in a hospital or
office setting by therapist. Although I was unable to do a current Site visit to a human service
department of a company to write my report, I do know from my own experience some things
pertaining to programs that employ behavioral or genitive intervention and or models. In this paper I
will attempt to explore some areas within a cognitive intervention such as: What population
participates in the program Who presents the program How the effectiveness of the intervention is
measured How do they determine a need for the program Do they have plans for other programs that
use behavioral models and techniques What other...show more content...
Rational–emotive therapists help people to straighten out the irrational thinking. The people
presenting the program are not punishers; they help to reinforce positive behavior. The
effectiveness of their intervention is measured by the therapist and is based on the knowledge of
whether they see any change within the client. The change in the client has to be from negative to
positive. The effectiveness is also measures by peer reviews. In the group setting that I have been
involved in, while the group of clients takes a break from the group session, a group of therapist has
a debriefing of their own. They evaluate any behavior progress that they may have noticed within the
clients and discuss whether the process is working. Just as with any other study, the effectiveness of
behavior intervention varies by the outcome of the group. "A more full understanding of the effects
seen in this literature may be obtained by closer Examination the individual studies" (Effectiveness
of Behavioral Interventions to Modify Physical Activity Behaviors In General Populations and
Cancer Patients and Survivors", 2004). The effectiveness of their intervention in determined by the
setting in which the intervention took place. Determining the need for the program depends on the
number of people wanting to change a specific cognitive behavior. The behavioral

Site Structure Listing
Site Structure Introduction The evolution of the make–to–order business model for tablet PCs based
on the Google Android operating system is ready to enter the next phase of its website development,
which is metaphor definition, site structure listing and the creation fo a design document. Implicit in
the site structure definition is the flexibility of allowing prospective and existing customers to
personalize the site for their unique needs, preferences and wants. The ability to create a highly
personalized user experience online is critical to the success of any e–commerce or online initiative
(Perugini, 2010). Throughout this chapter the key attributes that increase consumer purchase
intention are defined in the context of the build–to–order process online through a tablet configurator
and workflow design (Chen, Hsu, Lin, 2010). Metaphor Definition It is common to find websites
that align with a specific metaphor ranging from the functional, to organizational and visual as well.
The metaphor for this website is based on freedom from being constrained by a bulky, expensive
and partially–configurable laptop computer that often can't connect easily to the Internet. The
freedom metaphor will be pervasive throughout the entire site with visual metaphors of students not
having to lug around heavy laptops, just a build–to–order based tablet PC. There will also be visual
metaphors of freedom for road warriors who have ditched their laptops and now travel exclusively

The Benefits of The Internet
Thinking about the internet reminds me of something that was said in my history class. My
professor was lecturing about the early colonies in America and how the men of that time had to
sail up and down coasts in order to make maps. They had to actually draw these landscapes as
they saw them. This process would sometimes take years to accomplish. I realized that the
technology our ancestors used could today be accomplished in seconds versus years. I have access,
at the touch of a button, to maps from satellites miles above the earth. I can go shopping without
ever moving my legs and communicate with friends and family all over the world, which was once
nearly impossible. What an advantage I have over...show more content...
Roswell is a city that I really have trouble with in this area, every building looks the same and all
the roads sound the same. If it weren't for the directions that I received in Travelocity.com I would
have never made it to pick up my prom dress last year. With school and work filling most of my
schedule anything that saves me time is a lifesaver. Therefore I shop on the internet as much as
possible. For instance, when I was in high school, I hated having to drive to a book store to
acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several
different book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every
kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding counties was buying and looking for the
same books. All of us were buying out and harassing the clerks for theses books at stores such as
Barnes and Nobles, local bookstores such as Jillian's Books, and Walden Books. What a waste of
time! There is so much merchandise , like my books, that can be purchased over the internet. E–Bay
is also a place where everyday people buy and sell personal items and equipment. My brother, Ben,
loves E–Bay because this is where he finds accessories to his 1972 master craft boat which he is
re–building. E–Bay has introduced him to a whole new world of shopping. With out it he would still
be searching for the limited items that he has

Site Base Meeting Reflection
At the site base meeting it was noted that students are required to attend tutorials with Mr. Qualls
after they have failed two consecutive six weeks. The teachers in attendance made various
suggestions on how to be proactive to reach the students earlier in the semester to enable students to
be successful the following six week. One common thread in the suggestions was to use 5th period
as a pull–out program so teachers could work one on one with their student's that need additional
learning time in a particular subject that the student had failed the previous six weeks. Since students
are currently assigned to a teacher's attendance roster, an idea that was discussed by Mr. Bennett and
Mrs. Hendrix, was to have teachers communicate with

Site Analysis in Dubai
1.Site Analysis
a.Location and Size
This project is assigned to design an eco–community located in DIAC, Dubai, with the site area of
120,000m2.
b.Environmental Factors
i.Temperature:
Over the year temperature ranges from 15В°C – 41В°. The hot seasons continues from the month
May – September with an average temperature of 37В°C. The cold seasons continues from the
month December–March with an average temperature less than 27В°C. ii. Humidity:
Figure 1
The relative humidity varies from 26% – 92% throughout the year, seldom reducing below 11% or
upto100%. iii. Sun:
The span of day differs significantly throughout the year with the shortest hours of daylight being
10:34hrs and the longest of 13:43hrs. iv. Sun Direction:
(Figure 1)
v.Wind Direction:
The configuration of wind in Dubai is controlled by three different wind phenomena: synoptic winds,
Shamal winds, and thunderstorms. The wind in Dubai comes from the Northern West direction.
c.Site Opportunities
The location and environmental factors affecting the given site give us a set of opportunities which
can be exploited resulting in an efficient design.
i.Location:
The site location (DIAC) is profitable as students of all ages come for academic purposes from all
parts of the world increasing the of property (especially apartments) sales. Also since the area is
developing corporate companies can establish branches to grow their business. ii. Environmental

LEED Site Assessment Essay
LEED evaluates this under site assessment report on credentials such as Solar exposure, heat island
effect potential, and seasonal sun angles, prevailing winds, monthly precipitation and temperature
ranges.
This part requires stating the average annual and monthly precipitation, humidity, and temperature of
the site. Also involves provisions to identify onsite conditions of the site that could potentially
provide opportunities for renewable energy strategies such as wind, solar, and geothermal. Sites that
are designed to thrive within their natural climatic conditions require fewer resources to sustain as
they are tailored for those weather conditions. Othe climatic aspects like rainfall and temperatures
affect design issues such as...show more content...
Human Use –
LEED rates this factor based on adjacent transportation infrastructure, adjacent properties, existing
recycle/reuse of potential construction materials.
Reusing and recycling materials reduce the use of natural resources, which further protects habitat
destruction, reduces waste generation and pollution. Existing public infrastructure can influence the
site selection for buildings and hence the current LEED site assessment process involves reporting of
the neighboring buildings and facilities. LEED also accounts for the energy used in commuting to
and from the building site and hence has provisions to report proximity to any kind of transportation
infrastructure in site assessment.
Human Health Impacts –
As stated earlier LEED acknowledges the construction of a building at a site and all its impacts on
the existing ecosystem. It evaluates the proximity of vulnerable populations, adjacent physical
activity opportunities and proximity to large sources of air pollution. The construction of a building
may lead to an addition of several unwanted and harmful emissions into the ecosystem. Hence
building use is defined and all possible effects on local population are determined to avoid any
unpredicted future damage to health and lifestyle of the present population at the site.
Efficacy of Site Assessment
Site assessment is a fundamental part of site sustainability credit of the rating system. Although site

Significance
High–performance, sustainable/green buildings have become a trend and are gradually entering the
mainstream as an important market sector in the United States and globally. Construction of a
sustainable building typically begins with the selection of a suitable site. A building's location and
orientation on a site impact not only a wide range of environmental factors but also security and
accessibility factors. The Site Assessment pilot credit for site sustainability measure promotes
understanding of the character of the site and the physical, biological, and cultural links between the
site and the surrounding landscape. Performing an inventory of the site maximizes the
environmental efficiency of design and provides an...show more content...
These maps are available through US Geological Survey, but in case of a precise assessment, a
licensed surveyor in accordance with specifications tailored to the construction could be required.
The topography influences aspects of the site, such as the microclimate, distribution of plant and
animal species, water movement, and storm water management practices. The goal of this section of
the LEED rating system is to promote options for minimizing disturbance and skillfully
incorporating the existing topography into the design.
2. Hydrology – LEED rates this point based on flood hazard areas, delineated wetlands, lakes,
streams, shorelines, rainwater collection and reuse opportunities, and TR–55 initial water storage
capacity of the site. Change of land use may sometimes result in a negative impact on water quality.
Contamination may occur from any of the construction side effects, such erosion and sedimentation,
chemicals, or microorganisms. Any site–disturbing activities can increase the risks of flooding,
erosion, and other ecological impacts to properties. Hence all such components and risks are
considered under the hydrology part of the site assessment report.
3. Climate – LEED evaluates climate under site assessment report on credentials such as solar
exposure, heat island effect potential, seasonal sun angles, prevailing winds, monthly precipitation,
and temperature ranges.

Website Review Essay
After visiting and examining the PBS Web site, I was able to conclude that it is an extremely
successful entertainment and educational site. The Web site has won many substantial awards,
including the prestigious "Webbie Award" in 1998 and 1999. According to a recent survey, fifty
–six
percent of users at the PBS Web site are male and sixty percent are between the ages of eighteen and
forty–four. Forty–four percent of the Web site users have children and fifty–seven percent make
online purchases. (Gallup/Plaw Release: Survey of 40,000 Internet Users. Fall 1998.) The design of
the Web site is very bright and appealing to the eye. Its layout is inviting and easy to navigate. Its
design is consistent through all pages. There are many...show more content...
Another main section in the PBS Web site is called "TeacherSource." Its articles offer teachers
advice on incorporating cable, video, and the Internet into their classrooms and lessons. The
"Indie Scene" section concerns independent films and videos. It includes film reviews, a schedule
of movies, and interviews with filmmakers. The site has two different news sections, " Online
Newshour" and "News & Views." The "Online Newshour" section has up to date objective articles
with many photos. It also includes a new section geared towards high school students. The "News
& Views" section also deals with up to date news, but in a more subjective way. This section
includes opinion articles from a variety of people concerning more controversial news issues.
The section also has its own discussion group where users are able to post and reply to many
different topics. Other main sections on the PBS site include Adult Learning, history, science,
technology, and arts. The Web site also has its own shopping site called "ShopPBS." Here users
are able to purchase videos and books about anything from the Olympics to the rainforest. The site
offers users to sign up to receive a weekly email newsletter called "PBS Previews." The site also
offers television listings for PBS. In addition, there is a section where users can view the annual
report of PBS and find out about possible employment with the company. There is also an extensive
section where people interested

Site Analysis Project Sample
The site plan below illustrates both the current site which is being used as the bus stop and the
proposed site for the new bus shelter. Full and complete information about the site is detailed below
in the site inventory and site analysis sections. This was produced with the assistance of Google
Maps and on–site photographs. Site Inventory Facts & Performance The proposed site for the new
bus shelter is on the South West corner of Henry Ave and School House Lane on the Jefferson
University East Falls Campus. The coordinates are 40В°01'13.9"North and 75В°11'33.1"West. The
following graphs and charts will present various climate information for the site and the City of
Philadelphia, as well as the noise and luminance levels recorded on...show more content...
Due to time constraints, the recorded RH of the site was done at 17:06 EST while the climate data
was observed at 19:00 EST, this may lead to some differences when comparing data. However, using
the information provided it suggests that the microclimate for the proposed site in may be less
humid in August than PHL. Looking at the annual precipitation for PHL the average only exceeds
4inches once throughout the year in July. This information indicates that monthly precipitation is
not overly excessive. Wind Speed & Direction The next graph shows the 30–year average wind
speed in meters per second (M/S) of PHL as well as the recorded data of the proposed site.
Through looking at this data, one may be able to conclude that the proposed site has lower wind
speeds than PHL, which makes sense as the proposed site is not as open to the elements as PHL.
This means that the microclimate for the site could have lower wind speeds. The table below shows
the prevailing wind direction at PHL seasonally (January, April, July, and October), annually and for
the month of August to compare with the recorded data. Looking at the chart for August, it shows
that the wind direction comes from the South West, which is concurrent with the data recorded from
the proposed site which also came from the South West. These charts were produced from

  • 1. Essay about Germany Germany is the fourth largest country in area in Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich culture, but it did not become a unified nation until 1871. Before that time, Germany had been a confederacy (1815–1867). The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997 estimate). Germany is overwhelmingly urban, and most people lead a prosperous, comfortable lifestyle, with adequate leisure time and comprehensive social...show more content... Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine, and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the Baltic. Germany has a mostly moderate climate, characterized by cool winters and warm summers. River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and somewhat warmer in both winter and summer, whereas mountain areas can be much colder. Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in the form of rain and snow. Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or great economic disparity. Crime levels are substantially lower than those in the United States, and the possession of guns is controlled. However, there are substantial numbers of homeless people and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s. They occur often enough to make law and order a recurrent

  • 4. Essay on Website Design Facebook, Myspace, Yahoo, Google, and Twitter are all websites that people use every day, but how did they get there and how were they created? Website design is a process of assorting and linking codes and graphics into a text editor such as notepad and then displaying it onto a web browser. There is a large amount of things to remember for website design. Ranging from HTML, CSS, and XHTML codes to scripting languages like Java Script. Website design has a vast history considering it is a fairly young profession. Website design uses complex codes to create web pages in addition with programs aiding in the creation; when you join the two components together it is a long complicated process that ends in purchasing a domain name for a...show more content... Websites did not need to be big, elaborate, and flashy. They just needed to get the point across, and that is exactly the purpose they served. In 1994 the World Wide WebConsortim or W3C was established to oversee the development of web technology standards. The W3C designated HTML as the primary code language for the future of website design to be based on. Of course they have made advancements in the base design code such as HTML versions one, two, three, four, and XHTML. The very first and current director of W3C is Tim Berners–Lee. Tim actually invented the World Wide Web in 1991 and created the world's first website. He put the first website online on August 6, 1991. The web address was http://info.cern.ch/. Unfortunately it no longer exists in its original form. The W3C is still in charge of code techniques and development guidelines that website development follows. Technology has advanced over the years in web design. Website design is cut up into four generations. The first generation of web design was very simple. It was basically just text, this was because early modems were very slow and plain basic webpages would load much faster this way. The second generation was slightly more advanced as the development of HTML became more complicated. The third generation of web design is when website designers could add vibrant colors and animated images to their webpage. The evolution of websites and their Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Although I was unable to do a current Site visit to a human service department of a company to write my report, I do know from my own experience some things pertaining to programs that employ behavioral or genitive intervention and or models. Rational–emotive therapists help people to straighten out the irrational thinking. The people presenting the program are not punishers; they help to reinforce positive behavior. The effectiveness of their intervention is measured by the therapist and is based on the knowledge of whether they see any change within the client. The change in the client has to be from negative to positive. The effectiveness is also measures by peer reviews. In the group setting that I have been involved in, while the group of clients takes a break from the group session, a group of therapist has a debriefing of their own. They evaluate any behavior progress that they may have noticed within the clients and discuss whether the process is working. Just as with any other study, the effectiveness of behavior intervention varies by the outcome of the group. "A more full understanding of the effects seen in this literature may be obtained by closer Examination the individual studies" (Effectiveness of Behavioral Interventions to Modify Physical Activity Behaviors In General Populations and Cancer Patients and Survivors", 2004). The effectiveness of their intervention in determined by the setting in which the intervention took place. • 7. Site Structure Listing Site Structure Introduction The evolution of the make–to–order business model for tablet PCs based on the Google Android operating system is ready to enter the next phase of its website development, which is metaphor definition, site structure listing and the creation fo a design document. Implicit in the site structure definition is the flexibility of allowing prospective and existing customers to personalize the site for their unique needs, preferences and wants. The ability to create a highly personalized user experience online is critical to the success of any e–commerce or online initiative (Perugini, 2010). Throughout this chapter the key attributes that increase consumer purchase intention are defined in the context of the build–to–order process online through a tablet configurator and workflow design (Chen, Hsu, Lin, 2010). Metaphor Definition It is common to find websites that align with a specific metaphor ranging from the functional, to organizational and visual as well. The metaphor for this website is based on freedom from being constrained by a bulky, expensive and partially–configurable laptop computer that often can't connect easily to the Internet. The freedom metaphor will be pervasive throughout the entire site with visual metaphors of students not having to lug around heavy laptops, just a build–to–order based tablet PC. There will also be visual metaphors of freedom for road warriors who have ditched their laptops and now travel exclusively Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. The Benefits of The Internet Thinking about the internet reminds me of something that was said in my history class. My professor was lecturing about the early colonies in America and how the men of that time had to sail up and down coasts in order to make maps. They had to actually draw these landscapes as they saw them. This process would sometimes take years to accomplish. I realized that the technology our ancestors used could today be accomplished in seconds versus years. I have access, at the touch of a button, to maps from satellites miles above the earth. Roswell is a city that I really have trouble with in this area, every building looks the same and all the roads sound the same. If it weren't for the directions that I received in Travelocity.com I would have never made it to pick up my prom dress last year. With school and work filling most of my schedule anything that saves me time is a lifesaver. Therefore I shop on the internet as much as possible. For instance, when I was in high school, I hated having to drive to a book store to acquire my summer reading books. I once spent a whole day searching for one book at several different book stores all over town and the town next to mine; only to find out that almost every kid in my grade, and at every school in the surrounding counties was buying and looking for the same books. All of us were buying out and harassing the clerks for theses books at stores such as Barnes and Nobles, local bookstores such as Jillian's Books, and Walden Books. What a waste of time! There is so much merchandise , like my books, that can be purchased over the internet. E–Bay is also a place where everyday people buy and sell personal items and equipment. My brother, Ben, loves E–Bay because this is where he finds accessories to his 1972 master craft boat which he is re–building. E–Bay has introduced him to a whole new world of shopping. LEED Site Assessment Essay LEED evaluates this under site assessment report on credentials such as Solar exposure, heat island effect potential, and seasonal sun angles, prevailing winds, monthly precipitation and temperature ranges. This part requires stating the average annual and monthly precipitation, humidity, and temperature of the site. Also involves provisions to identify onsite conditions of the site that could potentially provide opportunities for renewable energy strategies such as wind, solar, and geothermal. Sites that are designed to thrive within their natural climatic conditions require fewer resources to sustain as they are tailored for those weather conditions. Othe climatic aspects like rainfall and temperatures affect design issues such as...show more content... Human Use – LEED rates this factor based on adjacent transportation infrastructure, adjacent properties, existing recycle/reuse of potential construction materials. Reusing and recycling materials reduce the use of natural resources, which further protects habitat destruction, reduces waste generation and pollution. Existing public infrastructure can influence the site selection for buildings and hence the current LEED site assessment process involves reporting of the neighboring buildings and facilities. LEED also accounts for the energy used in commuting to and from the building site and hence has provisions to report proximity to any kind of transportation infrastructure in site assessment. Human Health Impacts – As stated earlier LEED acknowledges the construction of a building at a site and all its impacts on the existing ecosystem. It evaluates the proximity of vulnerable populations, adjacent physical activity opportunities and proximity to large sources of air pollution. The construction of a building may lead to an addition of several unwanted and harmful emissions into the ecosystem. Hence building use is defined and all possible effects on local population are determined to avoid any unpredicted future damage to health and lifestyle of the present population at the site. Efficacy of Site Assessment Site assessment is a fundamental part of site sustainability credit of the rating system. Although site assessment Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Site Analysis Significance High–performance, sustainable/green buildings have become a trend and are gradually entering the mainstream as an important market sector in the United States and globally. Construction of a sustainable building typically begins with the selection of a suitable site. A building's location and orientation on a site impact not only a wide range of environmental factors but also security and accessibility factors. The Site Assessment pilot credit for site sustainability measure promotes understanding of the character of the site and the physical, biological, and cultural links between the site and the surrounding landscape. Performing an inventory of the site maximizes the environmental efficiency of design and provides an...show more content... These maps are available through US Geological Survey, but in case of a precise assessment, a licensed surveyor in accordance with specifications tailored to the construction could be required. The topography influences aspects of the site, such as the microclimate, distribution of plant and animal species, water movement, and storm water management practices. The goal of this section of the LEED rating system is to promote options for minimizing disturbance and skillfully incorporating the existing topography into the design. 2. Hydrology – LEED rates this point based on flood hazard areas, delineated wetlands, lakes, streams, shorelines, rainwater collection and reuse opportunities, and TR–55 initial water storage capacity of the site. Change of land use may sometimes result in a negative impact on water quality. Contamination may occur from any of the construction side effects, such erosion and sedimentation, chemicals, or microorganisms. Any site–disturbing activities can increase the risks of flooding, erosion, and other ecological impacts to properties. Hence all such components and risks are considered under the hydrology part of the site assessment report. 3. Climate – LEED evaluates climate under site assessment report on credentials such as solar exposure, heat island effect potential, seasonal sun angles, prevailing winds, monthly precipitation, and temperature ranges. Due to time constraints, the recorded RH of the site was done at 17:06 EST while the climate data was observed at 19:00 EST, this may lead to some differences when comparing data. However, using the information provided it suggests that the microclimate for the proposed site in may be less humid in August than PHL. Looking at the annual precipitation for PHL the average only exceeds 4inches once throughout the year in July. This information indicates that monthly precipitation is not overly excessive. Wind Speed & Direction The next graph shows the 30–year average wind speed in meters per second (M/S) of PHL as well as the recorded data of the proposed site. Through looking at this data, one may be able to conclude that the proposed site has lower wind speeds than PHL, which makes sense as the proposed site is not as open to the elements as PHL. This means that the microclimate for the site could have lower wind speeds. The table below shows the prevailing wind direction at PHL seasonally (January, April, July, and October), annually and for the month of August to compare with the recorded data. Looking at the chart for August, it shows that the wind direction comes from the South West, which is concurrent with the data recorded from the proposed site which also came from the South West.
