2. Main character
• Within the opening there should be a main
character. The fact that they are in the
opening allows the audience to know the
character better.
3. Genre
• The genre should be shown through the
opening to all the audience to know what it is
about. This could be done by the font of the
text, the music, the shot types and what is
actually going on in the scene. For example, a
horror could have slow eerie music in the
background.
4. Location
• The location of the opening is very important
as not only does it help us learn about the
main character and the genre but it also gives
us a clue about the storyline and where is it
taking place.
