Terry D Cornell organized and hosted many events to support veterans and charitable causes. He hosted fishing events for disabled veterans at Manteno Veterans Home and Hines VA Hospital in Illinois. He also spoke at several conferences on topics like researching family history and obtaining veterans benefits. As a member of the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribe, he proposed resolutions to improve laws and governance for the tribe. 1. Terry D Cornell Hosted and Organized Many
Events for the Veterans
Terry D Cornell is voted as the Commander of American
Legion Post 1993, Palos Park, Illinois. On August 2017, he
was given the award for being the Chairman of the
Chicago Police/Knights of Columbus Golf Outing. The
money raised was given to help the disabled children and
other charities as well. In addition to this, he was also
appointed as the Trustee for the Chicago police/knights of
Columbus, council 12173. His duties constituted of
overseeing the work of the Financial Secretary and
Treasurer and with the Deputy Grand Knight Serve on the
council’s retention committee. Working in all such positions,
he was also involved in organizing events.
During his career, Terry D Cornell hosted and
organized many events, which are described as
follows:
On August 26, 2017, he hosted a fishing event for
disabled veterans who reside in Manteno Veterans
2. Home in Manteno, Illinois and Hines VA Hospital in
Hines, Illinois. The veterans were taken to the fishing at
Lake Sedgewick in Centennial Park in Orland Park,
Illinois. After the event, prizes were given to the persons
who caught the maximum fish and even the largest one.
In addition to this, there was a barbeque for the vets
and helpers.
Terry also spoke about how to research long lost
relatives of Native American Heritage as well as Irish
relatives at the Conference for The National Association
of Genealogy. About 300 people from all over the
country attended the conference; they were amateur
and professional genealogists, held in Indianapolis at
the Marriott.
In addition to this, he also spoke at a conference, which
was a group of veterans’ organizations about the
benefits of how to get them and how to get a VA
mortgage. The total count of people at the meeting was
about 200.
Being a member of the Cheyenne Arapaho Tribe of
Oklahoma and a part of Arapaho Indian. At the Annual
Tribal Council Meeting, on October 7th, he purposed to
3. make effective changes and laws that affect the
Cheyenne Arapaho Nation.
He also introduced several Resolutions that were
handily adopted by the tribal council.
One of the resolutions was to make a change in the
Cheyenne Arapaho Constitution to elect all of the Tribal
Judges and Superior Court Judges instead of Executive
appointments.
The next Resolution I introduced was the audit of Tribal
Members families to ensure all family members were
registered with the tribe. This Resolution passed by several
hundred votes.
Along with this, Terry D Cornell is a member of Aurora
Sportsman Club in Waterman, Illinois. Here, he took about
25 veterans for shooting various weapons for fun and
companionship. These vets came from Cook, DuPage and
Will County, Illinois, and from all branches of the military
and some were wheel chair bound.
