13 young Turkish women were abandoned on a boat without helmsman, because the
sea punished them for their people.
After days and days of sea and sale only, the girls landed on a small island in the bay
of Carini.
There they lived for 7 long years, when the relatives, torn by remorse, finally found
them following long and weak searches.
Once the families reunited, they decided never to go back. They settled on the
mainland and called it Capaci ("CCa-paci" or: peace here), while the islet that had
taken care of their women was
THE ISLAND OF THE WOMAN

Dreaming of the sea ...
If I close my eyes and think of the
sea it is so easy to start dreaming.
The water is crystal clear and shines
thanks to the sun,
and it is so bright, but what a
splendor!
There are seagulls and they touch
the sea water
and I continue to dream and
hope that the sadness of this period
at the bottom of the sea it will sink.
