Sexual therapy is a form of counselling for individuals to address their concerns

Can sexual therapy help with sexual arousal issues?
Yes, sexual therapy can help you discover why you are experiencing sexual
arousal issues. Sexual arousal is not just men that are experiencing erectile
dysfunction either. Many women can experience sexual arousal issues during
sexual interactions too.
Additionally, sexual arousal issues can include concerns where one is
excessively sexually aroused for no apparent reasons or at times that might
seem inappropriate.
How can sexual therapy help address intimacy issues?
Sexual therapy helps you determine what is causing intimacy issues and learn
how to overcome those in a safe and supportive environment. Intimacy issues
often stem from our own perceptions of our body image.
If we have a negative body image, then intimacy can be a concern. Even when
we have a positive body image, we can still have problems being intimate with
others. For instance, we might be more judgmental towards our partner and their
body image.

Does sexual therapy address sexual addictions?
Yes, sexual therapy can help you explore potential sexual addictions that you
may have. For instance, some people might be addicted to pornography to enjoy
sex. Other people may have compulsive sexual behaviours or engage in riskier
sexual encounters because they are addicted to the act of sex.
Just like other addictions, eventually, the addict moves from simple curiosity to
engaging in behaviours that give them the “rush of a thrill,” like cheating on
their partner. Learning how to manage sexual addictions can also help improve
personal relationships that are suffering.
Can I get help with a traumatic sexual experience with sexual therapy?
Sexual therapy is also for addressing traumatic sexual experiences that occurred
recently or in the past. It is not uncommon for someone to not deal with the
trauma immediately or put it off for a long time.
Eventually, that trauma can affect our ability to engage in sexual behaviours and
intimacy with someone we love and care about. By exploring what caused the
trauma and working through it in a safe and secure environment, sexual therapy
can help us learn how to let go, not blame ourselves, and be able to move
forward.

orientation?

sexual orientation can be a big help. You can openly share your feelings without
any judgments while exploring why you feel that way.
