1. Physical activity Is an important component
in a child’s life, providing an opportunity
for them to stay fit and healthy.
2. PDHPE provides the opportunity for children
to know their rights and responsibilities as a
pedestrian and a passenger; such as wearing
seatbelts. As well as it provides road safety
strategies such as “stop, look, listen and
think”, that may help with safely crossing the
road.
3. The student will get an opportunity to
learn about the importance of positive
relationships and problem solving. As
well as developing and working
relationships.
4. The students learn about nutritional needs
and variety of food choices- that is healthy
and unhealthy foods. As well as special
needs and considerations-salt/sugar intake.
5. This strand develops each student’s competence and
confidence in a broad range of games, sports and physical
activities. Students develop fundamental movement skills,
progressing to more games and sports-specific skills in
non-competitive and competitive environments that
foster positive feelings of success and enjoyment.
