2. Chakmak is a Hindi magazine for children. It was conceived in May 1985 as a science magazine for children in the 11 to 14 age-group as a definitive children’s magazine, that could spur the creativity and curiosity of children entering the teenage years, encourage and inculcate in them a reading habit and make learning and the acquisition of knowledge a process of fun and enjoyment.
3. Chakmak aims at providing children a wholesome magazine (with stories, games, activities, puzzles, poems etc.) which generates interest in science and environment without appearing to be boring. This reflects in our content which ranges from articles on art, science, history, cinema, sports, fiction and non-fiction stories related to nature and wildlife. Chakmak also provides a platform to the creativity of children; we have four dedicated pages for the same under the banner “Mera Panna’ in which we publish poems, riddles, stories and paintings by children.
