Responsibilities
• Maintain the operational integrity of maintenance (preventive
maintenance), installation and removal of mechanical
systems/components repair and documentation of the drilling systems
&equipment’s.
• Order parts, which will be necessary for maintenance and repair of
equipment.
• Complete required maintenance reports.
• Make use of parts books as necessary to identify necessary parts and
make arrangements for ordering.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with other work areas when
repairs are necessary.
• Operate various types of machinist equipment, i.e., drill press, etc.
• Possess mechanical abilities to repair and maintain complex mechanical
systems have the ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Work under pressure as "down time" during drilling operations can
present major difficulties, loss of day rate, and cause undue delays to
client.
• Maintain tools and mechanic's shop.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area of responsibility.
• Assist chief/rig engineer in maintaining adequate .
• Inventory for equipment in area of responsibility.
• Keep abreast of all Operational and Adverse Events Bulletins, which
affect the assigned work areas.
