I suspect the number of installed sites is actually a bit higher. There is continued work to define number of sites in our install base.
Now, let me introduce our ideas to provide solutions to medical needs in India. Our first solution is to promote screening for breast cancer, and our second is to reduce the differences in medical levels between major and regional cities.
First, in collaboration with Indian Cancer Society, we started to prepare mobile vans with breast cancer screening equipment, and these vans will travel around regional cities. These will enable people in regional areas, which lack sufficient numbers of doctors and facilities, to get early detection with breast cancer screening. We have a lot of experience of this service in Japan, Portugal and now we are proceeding to spread of this service not only India but also Turkey and Middle East countries. We believe it will be effective in this India of great distances.
Second, we will introduce our ‘Synapse’ to large hospitals and Imaging Centers which have branches in regional cities. Then we would like to contribute to resolving medical needs by tele-diagnosis from major cities.
I understand that the number of cancer patients in India has risen in recent years, as in other emerging market economies.
At Fujifilm, we are proud to have a range of medical equipment that can assist in the early detection of lung, stomach, colorectal, and breast cancer, and help save lives. We are especially proud that our Computed Radiography system has a 50% share in the Indian market.
