2. My goal is to compete in the 7.1 mile Falmouth Road race and receive a Personal Best I chose this goal because my family participates in this race every year as a family and with a group of good friends I have tried to run this race before and have struggled to complete the race and I have been disappointed in my time One year I had to drop out of the race and it made me realize how out of shape I was

4. I increased my mileage week by week until I was running 8 miles
5. I cut down on eating fatty foods and watched what I ate
6. I competed in a 5k road race every Wednesday night
7.
8. Process I also worked out on weights to increase my leg strength My routine was I would wake every morning and go out for a run. If I could not, I would go when I got home from work. An inhibitor to my running was the muggy weather we experienced this Summer. It was difficult to run at fast speeds on those days.
9. Results I have achieved my goal My fastest race time in Falmouth was 1:25 in 2009. I shaved off 10 minutes and am now running the course in 1:15 I have lost 16 pounds since June I am pumped about achieving my goal and cannot wait to actually run the race on August 15th knowing I am 16 pounds lighter and at least 10 minutes faster than I was last year
