Death is due to sock and haemorrhage as a
result of injuries sustained(in traffic accident
assault cases etc)
Death is due to respiratory failure (acute
asphyxia) secondary to laryngeal oedema as a
result of anaphylaxis (in drug reaction deaths)
Opinion in some common poisoning Death is due
to respiratory failure as a result of consumption of
organophosphorus compound /carbamate
compound/organochloro
compound/barbirurates/alcohol poisoning.

When electricity passes through heart.Death is
due to syncope as a result of ventricular
fibrilation secondary to electrocution.
When electricity passes through brainstem.
Death is due to respiratory failure (vital centre
failure) as a result of electrocution.
Opinion post mortem findings are consistent
with death due to electrocution.

See Fang marks, rule out foul play, study
circumstancial evidances given by police. Do not
send organs for chemical and histopathological
examination. As venom destroyad rapid and no
histopathological change.
In case cobra and other similar snake which have
neurotoxic venoum. ‘’ On perusal of PM report,
case sheet and circumstancial evidances I am of
the opinion that the death is due to respiratory
failure consequent upon snakebite.’’

In case viper and other similar type
snake which have haemolytic
venom


A If bled to death ‘’Death is due to shock and
haemorrhage as a result of snakebite ‘’.
If there is haemorrhage in brainstem. ‘’Death is
due to coma as a result of brainstem
haemorrhage secondary to snake bite ‘’.

When there are multiple crush injuries ,Death
is due to shock and haemorrhage as a result
of crush injuries .
When there is decapitation .Death is
instantaneous as a result of decapitation

If the vaginal or cervical smear shows
spermatozoa . Opinion ‘’I am of opinion that
the findings are suggestive that the victim had
a recent intercourse ‘’.
If hymen shows old tears and vagina is roomy.
I am of opinion that the findings are suggestive
that the victim is used to an act like that of
sexual intercourse.

If hymen shows fresh tears with spermatozoa in
vaginal or cervical smear. Opinion ‘’ I am of
opinion that the findings are suggestive that the
victum had a recent sexual intercourse’’.
M j/mo must aim at declaring whether the accused
is capable of performing sexual intercourse or not.
when all findings within normal limits opinion-’’ I
am of opinion that there is nothing to suggest that
the persion is incapable of performing sexual
intercourse.’’

Opinion in sodomy –if seman present in anal
canal ,opinion ‘’I am of opinion that the
findings are suggestive of a recent act of
sodomy ‘’. If only injuries with tenderness in
anal canal is noted .opinion – ‘’I am of the
opinions that the findings are suggestive of an
act like that of sodomy.’’
