3. The International Convention on World
Homoeopathy Day was held 9th&10thApril, 2016
at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi to commemorate the
261st birth anniversary of the founder of
Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Friedrich Samuel
Hahnemann. The convention was jointly
organized by Central Council for Research in
Homeopathy (CCRH), an autonomous research
organization of Ministry of AYUSH, Government
of India and an international organisation
LigaMedicorumHomeopathicaInternationalis
(LMHI) with the support of Ministry of AYUSH.

5. The theme of the Convention was ‘Integrating
Homoeopathy in healthcare’, and the
Convention aimed at highlighting the health
and cost benefits of integrating Homoeopathy
in healthcare among the health professionals
and policymakers, by way of scientific
evidence and rich clinical experiences.
8. Shri Shripad Yesso Naik, Hon’ble Minister of State
(IC) for AYUSH inaugurated the convention
greeted the people of India on the occasion of
World Homoeopathy Day.
The Minister shared with the delegates the
government’s intention to utilise AYUSH systems
optimally with the sole objective of betterment of
health in the country.
During his address, Sh. Ajit M Sharan, Secretary
(AYUSH) highlighted the importance of research
for the scientific advancement of Homoeopathy.

10. The convention was attended by scientists
and homoeopathy doctors from 23 countries
including Brazil, Russia, South Africa, Italy,
Netherlands, U.K., Austria, Armenia, Canada,
Israel, Australia, Bangladesh, Japan, France,
UAE, Cuba, Nepal, Turkey, Argentina,
Slovenia, Pakistan, Ghana and Kenya.

12. Among the invited guests were Mohd. Nasim, Minister of Health
& Family Welfare, Govt. of Bangladesh, Mr. MushtaqAlam,
Minister of State for Health, Govt. of Nepal, Mrs. FoziaManzoor,
Counsellor of High Commission, Pakistan and Mr. Anura
Jayawickrama, Health Secretary, Sri Lanka.
Also present were Dr. Manoj Rajoria, Hon’ble Member of
Parliament, Member, Standing Committee on Health & Family
Welfare, Shri. Francis D'souza, Deputy Chief Minister, Govt. of
Goa, Shri. Anil Vij, Hon’ble Minister of Health, Govt. of Haryana,
Shri. Karan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Ayurveda, Govt. of
Himachal Pradesh (India), Shri. U.T. Khader, Hon'ble Minister of
Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka, Shri. Atanu
Sabyasachi Nayak, Hon'ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare,
Govt. of Odisha, Shri. Lal Thanzara Sailo, Hon'ble Minister of
Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Mizoram, Shri Arjun Kumar

15. Apart from a Souvenir, the convention saw
the releases of a Homoeopathy Dossier in
Spanish, ‘Homeopatia : Ciencia De La
Curacion Suave’, a Handbook of recent trends
in Homoeopathy for Infectious Diseases in
India and Abroad, a book on Homoeopathy
for Common Diseases and two CCRH
modules-enabled homoeopathy software,
RADAR and HOMPATH.

18. BRICS and SEAR countries held special meetings during the
convention to strategize their consolidated efforts for promotion
of Homoeopathy in their respective countries, with supporting
each other with information exchange and technical knowhow.
CCRH signed two Memoranda of understanding (MoUs), one
each with Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia and College
of Homeopaths of Ontario, Canada on cooperation in the field of
Research and Education in Homoeopathic Medicine during the
convention.
Representatives from WHO also be participated.
26 GDMO were sponsored from our Dte of AYUSH (Homoepathic
wing) to attend the conference.
30 posters on various topics related to Homoepathy were also
projected at the venue by the researchers and practitioners.

20. Internationally acclaimed scientists known for
their remarkable work in various fields attended
this convention.
There were parallel sessions with speakers of
various expertise ranging from various branches
of biomedical science to quantum physics,
chemistry, pharmacology, pharmacognosy etc.
Among these, 16 international speakers also
presented their work and views on Homoeopathy.
In all, over 100 papers were presented through
oral or poster presentations.

22. Exchange of MoU between CCRH and Yerevan
State Medical University, Armenia
23. This convention deliberated upon various
significant issues in Homoeopathy.
Session on basic research tired to address the
usually favourite points of skeptics, like non-
existence of original particles in ultrahigh
dilutions, lack of understanding of mechanism of
action of homoeopathic medicines, etc.
Sessions on applied research was inclusive of
studies on evidence-based studies on various
clinical conditions, and threw light on where we
stand today in terms of level of evidence.

26. The exclusive public health session discussed the ways of
promoting Homoeopathy globally and chalked out the
channels to enhance international cooperation among
countries and to establish dialogue for promotion of
Homoeopathy at political level.
There were sessions which discussed the global scenario
of Homoeopathy and challenges related to education and
spread of Homoeopathy in various countries.
Quality and validation related concerns for homoeopathic
medicines were also be discussed at length.
Strengths of Homoeopathy in veterinary diseases was also
taken up separately, as were the subject of philosophy of
Homoeopathy and its practical application.
29. There were several presentations on clinical
research including latest research updates
and role of Homoepathy in malaria,
dengue,natural disasters, brain injuries,
chronic ear infection ,sciatica etc.
The convention brought about overall
recognition to Homoeopathy and created the
right atmosphere for action-oriented talks at
international levels and motivated scientists
to undertake pragmatic research in this
direction.
