On the Political Spectrum, Iagree more withthe rightside.A capitalistsocietyisfairandgrants
individualsmore responsibility.Itisupto the individual tomake theirowndecisions.
Witha conservative government,societygiveseveryoneequal opportunitiestoeithersucceed
or fail. Thisideologyisbestbecause people are free toadvance theircareersandmake more money.
Those that fail onlyhave themselvestoblame.
The role of governmentislimited inacapitalistsociety.Thisis beneficial because when
governmentshave toomuchcontrol,theirpowerisinevitablyabused.Alongwithalimitedgovernment
isdecreasedtaxation.Taxesshouldbe the same foreveryone,richorpoor. Successful people have a
rightto theirmoneybecause theyearnedit.
Punishmentismore drasticwithaconservative government.Individualsmake the choice tolive
accordingto the lawor not.Theyare aware of the consequences.If theychoose tobreaklaws,they
have to take responsibility foritbecause the social contracthas beenbroken.Punishmenthastobe
more severe inorderto encourage peopletofollow the rulessetoutforthem.
Socialismisnotthe rightway forpeople tolive togetherinasociety.Liberalssupporthightaxes
inorder to create a safetynetfor the lessfortunate.Thisisunfairbecause the governmentistaking
away the individual’schoice andusingtheirmoneytohelpsomeone theyhave mostlikelynevermet.
Successful people workhardfortheirqualityof life andtheydeserve tokeepit.
A liberal believesthatsome crimesare notthe perpetrator’sfault.Thisisnotreasonable
because the individual committedthe crime andmade somebodyavictim.Therefore,theymust
recognize the factthat theybroke the law and acceptthe punishment. A crime hasstill occurredevenif
the personwhodidit wasnot capable of control.
I have rightleaningtendenciesbecause Idonotlike thinkingthatagovernmenthascontrol over
my life. Governmentstake advantageof theirauthorityandeventuallybecome corrupt.Igetthisidea
fromnewspaperarticlesandsocial assignmentsthatexplainhow governmentsandpeopleinpositions
of powerexploitthe people beneaththem.Ialsoagree withsocialismbecause Ibelieve inthe ideathat
humanbeingsare generallyselfishandcan’tbe trusted. Overall,acapitalistsocietyismuchbetterthan
a socialistsociety.
