HOW SOCIAL MEDIA REALLY WORKS
UNDERSTAND
We talk about social media and we ask… How does social media really work? It’s not about having a Facebook,
Instagram or Twitter account. People are not listening on those social media profiles.
Unless you have a cute kitten, an adorable puppy or a video of someone smashing their face into a wall and
bleeding, no one is listening on these tools. So be very careful to put all your eggs into the social media basket.
Understand how social media really works. It is about what I call the G.A.S. formula:
· Give Knowledge
· Answer Questions
· Solve Problems
It is about the C.C.E formula: Capture - Call to Action - Engagement.
Consider having a system that directs people to your website or another type of capture mechanism on your
website to collect emails. You don’t own your “friends” or “followers” on Facebook or LinkedIn. The success of
your business relies on collecting a database of potential clients that you can email to on a regular basis – YES!
Email is alive and well! Facebook owns your audience... You own your emails! It's your audience!
Make sure that you have a capture mechanism, nowadays called a funnel, on your website! You drive these
potential customers to your website with a Call-to-Action or other Engagement tools.
Social Media should be divided in two levels. I call them M-Levels™:
Level 1 – Content creation on tools such as these is the key to success:
Website, Blog, YouTube, Social Media Press Releases, Document Sharing, LinkedIn Articles.
Level 2 – Sharing tools such as these are considered your “distribution” channels:
Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Social Bookmarking
Publish on Level 1 tools and share on as many Level 2 tools as much as possible.
The result is a saturation of your content and Google’s perception of you as an authority, bringing your content
to the top of the search engine result pages, capturing leads and growing your database, and growing your
business.
Content is “king”! Without creating content, aka Level 1, you don’t have marketing! Remember to use keywords
on titles, content, tags and image file names.
Now you know how social media really works. Use this strategy wisely to save time and money and to grow
your business exponentially!

REVIEWS FOR YOUR BUSINESS?
Here are some effective ways you can get Google reviews
for your company and build up your brand’s online
presence. The best way to get Google reviews is to simply
ask for them! Here are some other tried and true methods
to get more Google reviews.
USE EMAIL
Email is one of the most effective ways to get reviews on
Google Business Profile. Using email to ask for reviews should
help you save time and money.
If you’re sending a message to customers, be sure to add a
link to your Google business listing so that it will only take
them a few clicks to share their experience.
To get your Google review link simply search your business
on Google. Scroll to the “Your business on Google” section
and scroll right until you reach the “Get More Reviews"
section.
SEND SMS CAMPAIGNS
You can also send SMS requests (text messages). SMS open rates are significantly higher than
email and can drive better engagement and more reviews. Use a service like textmagic.com to
create regular SMS campaigns at a reasonable cost.

consistently deliver excellent levels of service and create “wow” moments with customers.
CREATE A GOOGLE REVIEWS LINK
Creating a unique Google reviews link and sharing it with your
customers encourages them to review your business on
Google.
MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY AND ASK FOR A GOOGLE REVIEW
Showcasing your best and highest-rated reviews on your
website is a great way to provide social proof, boost
consumer confidence, and encourage user interaction.
Reviews also often serve as the final push people need to
convert from being visitors to being customers.
Google reviews play an important role in how today’s
consumers discover and judge businesses. They can also
shape a brand’s online reputation, as well as reveal valuable

By tracking, responding to, and generating reviews on Google

People are not listening on those social media profiles. Unless you have a cute kitten, an adorable puppy or a video of someone smashing their face into a wall and bleeding, no one is listening on these tools. So be very careful to put all your eggs into the social media basket. Understand how social media really works. It is about what I call the G.A.S. formula: · Give Knowledge · Answer Questions · Solve Problems It is about the C.C.E formula: Capture - Call to Action - Engagement. Consider having a system that directs people to your website or another type of capture mechanism on your website to collect emails. You don’t own your “friends” or “followers” on Facebook or LinkedIn. The success of your business relies on collecting a database of potential clients that you can email to on a regular basis – YES! Email is alive and well! Facebook owns your audience... You own your emails! It's your audience! Make sure that you have a capture mechanism, nowadays called a funnel, on your website! You drive these potential customers to your website with a Call-to-Action or other Engagement tools. Social Media should be divided in two levels. I call them M-Levels™: Level 1 – Content creation on tools such as these is the key to success: Website, Blog, YouTube, Social Media Press Releases, Document Sharing, LinkedIn Articles. Level 2 – Sharing tools such as these are considered your “distribution” channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, Social Bookmarking Publish on Level 1 tools and share on as many Level 2 tools as much as possible. The result is a saturation of your content and Google’s perception of you as an authority, bringing your content to the top of the search engine result pages, capturing leads and growing your database, and growing your business.
