2. Typically held on the Tuesday after
Thankgiving, #GivingTuesday is an
online campaign to encourage acts of
kindness.
3. There are many ways you can
participate in #GivingTuesday.
No act, or gift, is too small.
Here are some ways
for you to contribute...
4. DONATEGOODS
If you have warm clothes, blankets, or other items
you no longer use, donate them to a local shelter.
These items can still be used by those who are not
as fortunate.
Donate dry goods and canned foods to
your local food bank to help fight hunger.
You can also give blood, and
possibly help save a life.
5. VOLUNTEERYOURTIME
Time is valuable, and giving some of yours can
go a long way.
Locate your nearest shelter and spend time playing
with kittens, or walking and caring for dogs.
Contact your local children's hospital to possibly
spend time reading and playing with children.
Offer to help your neighbors or
friends. Small favors are helpful, and
show you care.
6. SHAREYOURSKILLS
If you're a great baker, consider baking goods
to give to bake sales, local shelters or schools.
If you're a creative, contact a local public school to organize
small art lessons, or contribute to larger creative projects like
theater productions or murals.
If you're a great writer with an eye for detail, you
could use your skills to improve resumes. You can
organize workshops with local high school
students, veterans, or transitional homes.
