In addition to the o. G. Engineering
services are to integrate as the basis for
the design planning the interests and
achievements of the management
carriers and the municipal transport
companies (track construction). The
necessary processes and coordination
processes are to be coordinated and
controlled with all project participants
and the public authorities. Likewise,
required expert opinions are to be
coordinated and controlled. The
service also includes the drawing up of
roadmap plans and joint construction
and construction timetables (including
those for traffic control signage).
For the entire planning phase, as well
as for the complete construction
process, special emphasis is placed
on competent, public communication
skills. The participation in citizen
and neighboring participations, in
particular of the business residents is to
be provided.

The competition included planning and
designing of the Sankt Peter-Ording
Promenade Waterfront area. The
concept of the promenade is that it
opens up to the North Sea within natural
wetland areas. The project included
various areas such as residential, retail,
vista platforms, commercial, natural
trails, sandy landscapes, playgrounds,
sport and public that were related to
Waterfront and its public facilities.

11. Parametric Landscape Urbanism
2016 - 2017
METU, Ankara, Turkey
Master Thesis / Research
Most of the contemporary cities today
tend to integrate landscape into their
urban infrastructure by reclaiming
them as new systems of public space.
Landscape urbanism, in this context,
suggests new outlook to control
the comprehensive and complex
integration processes. With the new
interpretation of the concept of urban
landscape, landscape urbanism can
provide an alternative interpretation of
urban design in the wider framework of
infrastructure and territory as well. In this
regard, landscape urbanism currently
requires robust definitions of its own
methodologiesprovidinganalternative
outlook on both spatial representation
and design. From this standpoint,
the thesis discusses the emerging
approaches in landscape urbanism
from a methodological perspective. In
this framework, it critically reviews the
emerging techniques of parametric
modelling applied in the recent
design and research projects in
landscape urbanism. On this basis,
the study suggests a methodical
model integrating the main design
components of landscape urbanism
into the operational domain of
parametric design.

14. Urban Design Coding
2015
METU , Ankara, Turkey
Urban Design / Research
METU UD Studio held in 2014-2015
academic year conducted a design
research on urban coding. The study
mainly focused on morphological
urban design rules to generate
complex urban fabrics. To test the
operational relationship between the
code and the design process, several
hypothetical modeling studies were
made within consecutive workshops
called ‘design by code’ and ‘coding
by design’. For that purpose, a ‘code
index’ constituting the parametric
components of the basic elements
of urban form was defined. The index
provided the necessary vocabulary
for the formulation of urban codes
that require the reciprocal relationship
between the morphological elements
of urban form. The use of codes was
tested on a real context in Istanbul,
Turkey by selecting regular urban
blocks which are subject to be
transformed on a multiple-property
ownership pattern.

Crescenta Valley Community Regional
Park is nestled in a green and tree-filled
valley that provides community access
to a beautiful natural area of native
California flora and fauna. Frequent
visitors of the park call it a “hidden
jewel” in the Crescenta Valley.
Design plans for the 10,000-square-foot
park included features such as rails,
ramps and grind boxes. Two bleacher
areas were installed outside of the
enclosed park. The area was designed
to accommodate all skill levels of
not only skaters, but also scooter
enthusiasts.
